With that said, the times I have struggled with damage on EA ballistas, most were doing expedition stuff where I selected one or more of the following:

Increased attack/spell block - blocked means less arrows for the ignite

Ignite immune - most of the damage is in the burn so no burn is bad juju

Avoidance - I may have a guaranteed ignite but there's no arrow if its avoided


And that more or less applies to map mods too. Accuracy and blind can be an issue.

As far as Maven Shaper goes, she does grant temp immunity and I don't know how strong her boss heal is atm.

Try running a reg shaper and then run a maven shaper to see if its just with Maven or if its really just shaper alone.

Definitely just a maven thing because I melt regular shaper/elder, but maven ones are nearly impossible, the damage just doesn't happen.

Due to annoyance I'm rolling a seismic trapper... again :(

Actually due to this annoyance I'm probably done with the league.

I don't like playing more than 1 build these days, and that 1 build better do everything perfectly / flawlessly, and **extremely quickly**... it did in 3.17, it sure as fuck doesn't anymore.

I'm extremely unhappy with the changes to the game, rendering extremely strong builds much weaker than they were before.


Elemental based builds feel weak to me outside of LS Champ or Omni based builds. I've opted for an ashes based build rather than an Omni build -- That was apparently the wrong answer for Elemental damage with a champ this league.


It's just a slap to the face. We couldn't be more clear, we do not want this in any capacity -- even FULL time paid gamers like Ziz say it's absurd for the average player.


I'm far more geared than the average player, and have been since 3.8 -- I've never once enjoyed feeling weak in this game, to even the slightest extent. At my gear level even a mediocre build should phase any boss in like 10 seconds -- outside of the newest uber encounters.


And to achieve this they crushed us with a fake glass ceiling, severely hampering our damage, then rendering all our workarounds completely useless, and once we start using elemental pen, guess what they nearly remove?


Their is like 5 builds in this entire game now. And at my gear level you can tell that will not be an issue for me... But how are the normal and average players supposed to manage? Play Seismic trapper exclusively every single league?

Still not a single post from a Dev telling us why we are doing about 1/4 the damage we did last league.


Still no word on an instant change to that (Remove elemental res on monsters completely, or tune it how it was in 3.17 and below at the EXTREME least)

So something very interesting happened today.. this message above where I was complaining about how the averge person is supposed to play when I'm struggling at my gear level... However, I was alt tabbed in game, disconnected at some point and logged back in and without typing a thing, my character spammed only this exact phrase ---

Only that phrase -- as If I were trying to brag. I disconnected, logged back in, and for no reason without typing/entering chat or anything my character spammed that in global chat, before my loot filter even had a chance to load. I wish I had screen shotted that. Ah well.


My point is i'm usually always extremely geared, because sadly, i'm disabled and stuck at home. The only limitation to how much I can play is how much my pain pills knock me out/how fucked up my back gets sitting (some days I struggle to sit more than a few hours, legs swell up and shit).


So I can essentially play 10x more than the average person. My gear and experience reflects that heavily.... And somehow, for no valid reason, my character does almost no damage to a maven watched pinnacle boss. The extreme loss of my DPS penetrating ele res (while I have like -100+ res applies to enemies) is staggering. It's far beyond abnormal, and if it's not fun/fair for me, with tons of gear, how the fuck are the average people trying to have fun.


League after league, my concern is my dwindling friends list, of players who just aren't that great... The game is shutting them all out. These people spent 100x more than I'll ever spend on MTX (Disabled, no income) -- and GGG is making it so they can't play. People that have invested into this game are being shut out of it -- and that really bothers me.


I dress like a top 10% player and usually am -- but my concern with this game and company are the other 90% -- i'll be fine regardless, but it makes me very sad that my friends can't play unless I gear them, spec them, teach them how to play, and then provide boss service because it's just out of their realm of abilities.
