Casual player feedback on challenges 3.18
" If that's your take on my op, you read it completely wrong, so let me give you an example. Right now challenges are constructed like this: "Challenge 1, 2, 3, 4 etc Steps 1: Do this easy thing 2: Do this other easy thing 3: Do this relatively difficult thing 4: Do this incredibly difficult/rare and/or time-consuming RNG thing" Step 4 makes steps 1-3 near redundant because the challenge itself is gated behind step 4. A more fair way to present the challenges would be to split them by difficulty level instead of theme. A fantasy example would be "Challenge 1, 2 Steps 1: Do this easy thing 2: Do this other easy thing" "Challenge 3, 4 etc Steps 1: Do this relatively difficult thing 2: Do this incredibly difficult/rare and/or time-consuming RNG thing" The second example would allow players to chose their investment level in the game, clear some challenges and progress at their own pace, while the first example gates most challenges behind a high wall of heavy investment. I am not saying challenges are to difficult, I'm saying they are constructed unfairly. |

The Uber bosses are pretty difficult. Uber maven giving it to me hard.
And the conditional ones are pretty consistent This is all irrelevant if you play DD (not saying you do) but… You haven’t even killed regular maven and you call all the challenges easy to start then super hard… so I guess your definitions won’t match up to a lot of players. Kind of arbitrary. Mash the clean

From my SSF perspective with zdps builds.
I am patient and do some RNG or grind challenges but with 3.18 they went over board with even more RNG than before. Making them harder. Nope. More annoying, yep. It mainly involves rotating Atlas passives and hoping RNG kicks in. So an additionaly layer of content/achievement gating on top the usual things from past leagues. +1!
I feel less hyped when see what BS challenges are those. Best shot is to grind chaoses and buy boss kills and stuff like Simulacrum 30 or whatever BS thing that i couldnt complete even pre-expedition nerfs. Only testing the build keeps me loging, but less buddies play and its making the league even more boring/annoying. Slow down for a minute to enjoy the beauty around us.

i hate the new system. please revert.
i realize a lot of work went into making "two" armor sets. but im not even going to earn the first set. i *might* make it to the gloves, oh boy. feels like crap. |

They're literally giving out free MTX skins looking like their 500$ MTX this league. That's why they decided to make the challenges so muc harder.
They want you to work for the MTX they're handing out hoping you'll play the league longer. Most challenges should be fine for casual players anyway. 16/40 should be really easy. You can literally just buy most of them. The only really annoying challenges is the Harvst one. The EGG and Altar challenge seems kinda grindy too. The rest requieres a powerful build but should be doable in a couple of maps. |

Even though I've played for years, there are still basic things in the game I've never accomplished. The challenges are rife with them. Fore example, things in the challenges that I've never done in order of the challenges:
Complete a flawless breachstone (I could probably do it, but getting a flawless breachstone is so grindy. I'd buy one for the challenge) Defeat an essence monster with at least 8 modifiers Killed the heart of the grove (at least I don't think I have. It's so fucking rare) Obtain at least 200 Simulacrum Splinters from a single Delirium Mirror (I don't even see how that's possible) Complete a 100% Delirious Tier 16 Map which has at least four modifiers (Not even close) Complete Wave 30 of Simulacrum (I think the highest I've done is @ 25) Defeat a Tier 16 Map Boss in a Rare Map after having activated at least 6 Searing Exarch Altars in an area with Wrath of the Cosmos allocated Defeat a Tier 16 Map Boss in a Rare Map after having activated at least 4 Eater of Worlds Altars which have modifiers that affect the Map Boss with Eldritch Gaze allocated (Those 2 sound impossible) Complete each of the following Invitations while they have at least five modifiers and are affected by Height of Hubris. (I've never accomplished the feared, forgotten, hidden, so adding an additional layer of difficulty means this is a no go. There's also uber stuff in this challenge.) Uber stuff: I'm sure I'll fail all of this stuff as I'll probably get only one chance to do it at all this league. 6 challenges associated with that. Then there's the stuff I never finish because it's so grindy. This league is especially bad with all the conditional stuff. there are 6 endgame conditional challenges. This is very grindy, and difficult as it requires a lot of farming of fragments, etc. Of course you could buy the required components, but that's a different type of grind needing currency.
