" Seismic isnt great mapper, so no suprise. Make any build that can take advantage of every type of shrine, slap Gull on your build, add 4 shrines from map device, add atlas passives to the shrines (2 buffs from shrine instead 1 + more duration) and enjoy the best mapping exprience you ever had. |

" When you have to hide from a basic question of what you are even trying to accomplish in the thread... seriously, again, why do you not want more skills to viable? What is in this for you aside from plain old trolling? How would more viable skills be bad? Let me guess, no answer. Anyway, 5 skills out of 147 make up over half of all builds anyone has data on. You can't argue with that. |

" Never said I dont want more skills viable. Im just saying you are wrong thinking only 5-6 skillsare aviable. We have more than enough viable skills, people just refuse to play them becuase they cna only play meta builds. People like you. |

Game would be much better if top 10 active OP starter hurr skills were disabled/rotated each league.
Challenge the top players by removing the constant safe options for smashing all content in 2 days. Lighten up on the insane grind required to enjoy the game. This I must play hurr build to accrue enough currency to play the game the way you want to play is a terrible concept. Promote skill diversity as content creators need to find new combinations each league for all the copy paste gamers. Copy paste gamers may even try play the game themselves if each leagues skill restrictions promote experimenting with the games mechanics. |

" Ok, that clears everything up, fantastic. Last edited by trixxar#2360 on May 24, 2022, 1:25:21 PM

" We have more than enough for game to feel good, but we can always have more. But whenever I see someone claiming only 5 skills are viable Im just thinking "yep another guy who read reddit too much" |

" To be fair it looks like he started with ED/bane and farmed with a group until he could afford to make a perforate slayer. This is a common starter strategy and one that I abuse whenever I get the chance, which is once a year or so because of work/life. Most leagues I either sit out entirely or only have time to build and level one guy. Certain starter builds are overrepresented because they leech well in tower or port farming. Looking at level 100's on poe.ninja or ladder leaders might give you the impression that builds with mostly totems/traps/passive debuffs are cheap and effective starters. Nope, they're cheap and effective setups for sliding through behind carries and not needing loads of investment to cap res and use withering step/phase run. Trappers throw weak traps to recharge ES and get life, then leave the area. Drop a wither totem to slow enemies, curse some guys for your carry. Share profits, get to 96+, buy components for your "actual" build. Meta builds on day 3 or 10 =/= meta for endgame clear and challenges. These are likely people who have enough time to play POE everyday for the first month of the league and roll up 2+ chars, a starter and a worker. The game mimics real life, in that you don't pick something because you like it, you pick it because it will pay your rent and put food on the table. If you're Very Lucky, the kind of stuff you are good at and like to do, also happens to pay well and matter to society. If you're like everyone else, you settle for something that gets you to a point where you do have some choices. Maybe some of it is communication, I think it boils down to
5 or so builds: You can beat pretty much all content at 3-10 ex, with 50% game knowledge (game knowledge being a rough, dumb way to say how much you know about the game at large and specific endgame boss encounters) 6 to 14 builds: Same with 8 to 15 ex, with 65% game knowledge 15 to maybe 50 builds: Same with 15 to 50ex, with 75% game knowledge 2000 builds: Same with 50 to 250ex, with 100% game knowledge (Mathil or similar) 10,000+ builds: Same with full mirror tier gear. This obviously a gross generalization. So then people people say "Only 5 builds are viable" meaning given their knowledge, ability to farm currency, and time, they will be able to complete content with those 5 top builds. "Git gud" - The problem with this is that without a build that can access content, you generally can't practice content to get gud in the first place. Let's use Cortex as an example. If your build is not farming T16s easily, how many chances are you going to have at Synth maps or Cortex? You do not get an opportunity to get gud without a build that can tear through content (i.e. meta build). Same with Uber Elder, or Maven, or Simacrulum, etc. The same is true with farming currency. Many league players are not going to play a starter, to play a mid tier farmer, to play their final build. "You problem vs GGG problem" - Anything that impacts a large enough number of players is a GGG problem. If most people quit before understanding sockets and supports, then it is a GGG problem that players are not figuring this out when picking up the game. Similarly, if most players are saying the game has very limited build options (I am not speaking for most players, hence saying "if"), then that is also a problem. I don't think most posters even disagree on the fundamentals, they are just using shorthand ("viable" vs "possible"). Last edited by trixxar#2360 on May 24, 2022, 4:34:23 PM

" No, I farmed solo, group play in PoE is awfull. I was fine even in T16 with my Bane starter, it made me enough currency in a week to make my current Slayer. Its not like it requires a mirror to work. I didnt spend more than 15 ex on it, which you can get in 3 days of mapping (after you reach T16's and unlock most ur atlas points) |
