Forbidden Flesh and Flame are not fun chase items for SSF and the wrong direction to go

Also i don´t get all this SSF talk. I like SSF a lot, but what exactly do you guys want? Do you want the drops to be balanced around SSF? I mean i had alot of fun in SSF before those Jewels even existed and at the same time i also think that ultra rare items like those jewels need to exist within a game like PoE. But balancing the weightings around SSF would ruin the whole trade economy experience.

Ever found a Tyraels Might in D2? Or an ETH Death´s Web? Triple Aura Watchers Eye in SSF? Some things are just NOT MEANT to be found by yourself unless you are extremely lucky or grind your *** off (or click that migration button and trade with your selffound exalts for it)

Yup I agree with this sentiment. I have played SSF a lot in the past and it is in a very good spot right now, the only thing SSF needed was quality of life changes like removing the rng of uber lab trials and crafting tools (harvest, bestiary, eldritch influences). Getting all the uber trials & finding influenced bases was the biggest points of ssf & both these have been solved. The only remaining thing is cluster jewels which should be more accessible.

Niche rare items like the forbidden jewels shouldn't be obtainable in SSF by anything else other than pure luck.
also way too rare. on exarch #217 in std at time of this comment and still have not seen a flame drop. After 341 attempts on eater, ive gotten only one flesh. seriously needs a plus to their drop rates. seems like a 1 out of 500 chance

Biggest issue with the gems is that Ascendancies were not changed.

Some favor it well while others less so. It was a very bad design choice to just add them.

I personally don't like most Ascendancy nodes. Trickster and Slayer are probably the better in design. Inquisitor is about the limit when it comes to specific perks for me. Stuff like Gladiator Bleed is complete trash design. Things like that only serve to pigeon hole builds.

I really wanted to give new Trickster some builds but just got bored so quick.

Yes, drops should be balanced for ssf in and only in ssf. Trade is a separate matter altogether. In the same vein hardcore should have less monsters with less animations and less visual effects so as to lighten server load and lessen disconnects. For SSF all it takes is just dialing up 2 global variables. This is no work at all and there is no excuse for not doing it. Speculating about the devs motives for not doing so will get the post moderated for being needlessly negative, i leave it to your imaginations. Sry not sry, but more than a decade should be enough for the basic game modes to be out of beta.
If SSF was balanced around drops for a singular player then no one would play trade league. I already only buy build essential items. I bought Prototype and Flesh/Flame. All the rest was mine.

Besides bad situations like these gems, trade is mostly just good for alt builds.
Then again if drops were improved even that perk might not be enough.

They don't want to be Diablo3 and I don't blame them. Trading with friends/guilds is fun but it's in no way worth the watered down drop rates and massive itemization weight they've made.

Median XL does SSF well by simply giving the offline client much higher drop rates - about twice as high as the online realm. Finding a good rare unique is still an accomplishment, but these goals are reasonable because of this buff.

I think that would be a good direction for SSF. Separate it completely from trade and make transferring SSF characters to trade leagues impossible. But in return give SSF different drop rates (a bit higher than in trade league, especially rare currency such as eldrith currency, exalts, divines) and perhaps some smart loot in high end content - don't drop items with ilvl 9 affixes from fucking uber bosses. Make rares dropped by endgame bosses actually worth picking up and identifying - you know that they have at least ilvl 60 affixes for example. Not less.

Forbidden pair is unique as this item doesn't work in SSF at all. It drops about 1 per 10 kills and it has like 200 variants. Even if these dropped BOTH at once (as in, every kill would drop a pair) it would still be horrible, requiring about 200 kills to find the one you need. In reality it's more like 20,000 kills - that's just impossible to pursue.
People complain trade league is easy baby mode, migrate to ssf, now complain is too hard to get (chase) stuff

Its almost like its impossible to play trade league and refraining from trade for the most part... Play regularly but only trade currency or this one vital and specific item? No! We must go full ssf and then complain that the game is not build around it, after all only in ssf we have... uhh... Braggin rights? Maybe they will implement ssf-specific achieves someday? Playing normally and just making all your tabs private is impossible, aparently...
