You're not wrong, but typically set items have at least *some* functionality on their own. In any case, I play SSF and I assume that I'll never see one of them, let alone a matching pair.
I'm glad they are adding items like this. Pre 3.17 I played nothing but SSF for a long time because there was really no point in playing trade, with crafting/item acquisition being so much easier than before & lack of challenging content in endgame.

Now this gives me a reason to play trade league, which this game is balanced around. SSF is a nice self-imposed challenge but making everything acquirable in SSF kinda defeats the whole purpose, because its expected that SSF characters will never have perfect gear.
My take on this is pretty simple.
SSF players are not supposed to have or find everything.
They choose to ignore a core pillar of the game so they should suffer the consequences.

To everyone that says that PoE is balanced around trade and that SSF shouldn't be able to find all items, this is not right. Everything that is possible in trade is possible in SSF (although possible time consuming, but achievable).

Go check PoE Ninja and you will notice top end SSF players have better gear than most people on trade league.

It used to be that helm enchant somewhat had this problem too and GGG fixed it.


The probability of a player finding a pair of forbidden jewels within 3 months is in the Xe-6 range...there are probably more mirrors found in SSF.

It is not a balance problem in my opinion, but a design problem hence this thread.

If you think im wrong and are entitled to your opinion go and farm jewels in SSF but dont cry in the forums.

If i need a forbidden flame/flash I pop the trade interface and trade for it. That simple. You choose your own misery with SSF.

Not sure when giving feedback became crying, but farming the jewel in SSF is practically impossible hence this post.

You just proved my point in your second sentence. The only way to get the pair is trade and this is the only thing in PoE that is this way. Thanks
PoE is profesonaly balanced arouond eficient market trade ecomomy. You can actully earn eassly 4-55 ex in day if youer play intenteded ways.

Yes and I once got a HH in SSF, but if I play ssf in the next league I'm not gonna expect to get it ever again. If I get lucky that's a happy accident, but one should never go into ssf with the expectation. Its just against the spirit of that mode.

And no, on average SSF players don't have better gear than trade league that's absolute bs. It might seem that way on week 1 because most people who play SSF know how to craft their gear, and right now life/res gear & build enabling uniques are the chase items. But they will never have items like perfect cluster jewels, double elevated and double corrupted items that you get access to a couple weeks into trade league.

played 2 months of Archnemesis, saw zero drop, saw zero listed for sale.(for my Class / ascendancy)

(xbox console).

Game drops are based around a healthy playerbase, which we don't have on the console, we have at an educated guestimate 8-9% of the PC player numbers, which means its like playing SSF with limited trade options.

I would not be surprised if there were more SSF PC players than Xbox trade.

So please GGG adjust your drop system, or does it really work when you have around a 10th of the player numbers running the content?
