Tho this league LA happened. & Yeah I've quit Lost Ark. 8 skills on a hotbar wasn't enough. PVP had no progression or good maps. The PVE maps weren't open enough. P2W is lame. Forum mods for LA gave people 1 year bans, for simple negative feedback threads. Their aren't enough reasons to party outside of dungeons. The skill tree customization was too small. Mostly a NPC mobile phone walker. So everyone's quitting Lost Ark, who isn't a noob to the mmorpg genre. LA already lost half its playerbase. 1 mill to 500k now (& dropping). More p2w exposing vids everyday = less ppl.
While it may be the players fault for testing LA. Still, I'm sure half the playerbase of POE tested LA. It ruined the leagues time frame. Before Feb 12 LA's release, I had a 72 Templar. I didn't play POE again till 1 month later, where the league seems pointless to rejoin. To each their own.
Even if a new mmorpg happens for next league, I doubt it'll be a top down mmorpg. Also their doesn't seem to be much arriving till Ashes of Creation, like 1 or 2 years from now. So for sure no new top down mmo's & no good regular mmo's either for a long time.
So yeah, why not end this league early & give half the people who tried Lost Ark. A reason to play POE, earlier, than waiting another freaking few months or so. No thanks.
Everyone's bored of LA after the 1st month, but were not gonna return to POE for a wasted league time frame either.
This league is far from dead. Still alot of ppl playing.
The game is losing players kinda slowly right now.
While alot of players are quitting, I think alot of people also are league starting late this season filling in the spots of ppl finishing the league.
Me myself and alot of my friends league started 2-3 weeks ago after being done with Lost Ark and Elden Ring. The hype of those games is dying down and I'm sure more people are like me and my friends and will want to play PoE again.
When the League ACTUALLY dies, which will happen in ~1 month or so and barely any people are playing I think it's safe to pull the chord.

Well it does take around 3 months to actual make a new league, balance changes, new skills/mechanics. So I don't see them ending this league early even if it hasn't done that great. My guess would be May 6th for the next league, usually if they don't spend that much time fixing up the current league it because they've moved on.
Hopefully they bring some melee buffs with this new league...

If you felt miserable by PoE nerrf then wait till you reach "end game" in LA and realize the only way to do any meanigfull content is to swipe.
