over 2500 hours and ive never beat an endgame boss...
Here is a pob of my seismic trapper;

A BLATANT LIE by the HMFIIC. Perhaps GGG should consider a leadership change. Last edited by Bjorn_Angannon#7300 on Mar 26, 2022, 6:38:45 PM

If it helps at all, at 2,500 hours I was probably in a similar place (now nearing 9,400 hours). I would also reinforce the advice to play Standard. I've done a few leagues, but I get so burnt out halfway through and enjoy the slower pace of Standard where I can play at my own pace. It's also allowed me to slowly build up an inventory of items with which to refine my characters, the most successful of which is my level 100 necromancer. With that character, after many, many build changes to patch up this or that weakness, I can do a lot of endgame bosses deathless most of the time. A lot of that is just learning their patterns and when you need to get out of the way, but also building up layers of defenses for when I inevitably make a mistake.
Here's my first Sirus deathless (with one close call) at awakening 6, back in Conquerors - it took a lot of tries and learning the fight to get to this, so what this doesn't show are the many failures Here's the 10 boss Maven's Crucible for the first time when Echoes launched More recently: The Black Star deathless, after figuring out how the mechanics work - pinned comment has wiki link The Infinite Hunger deathless, after researching the mechanics - also has pinned comment with wiki link The Infinite Hunger, with only two deaths, both of which were entirely preventable and on me I've done Searing Exarch with only one or two deaths, but still need to record it. I'm able to reliably do the Elder fight deathless, and also the Shaper fight with a few deathless though more often one death. I've only ever been able to do the Shaper + Elder fight successfully once at the end of War for the Atlas, but hope to get back there sometime for the voidstone. There are still a few bosses that elude me complete. Still haven't been able to do Alluring Abyss Atziri because of that damn flameblast. I understand how the Maven fight is supposed to work, but I've yet to succeed at that. tl;dr Even those of us who seem to know what we're doing still struggle. More hymns for Cassia when?

A lot of beating end game bosses is meeting minimum dps thresholds. The higher your damage output, the more room you have to work with, albeit you can't simply ignore defense and survivability too.
When I first started on uber elder, i failed several attempts. I didn't realize it at the time, but my damage output wasn't nearly as good as I thought it was. After some adjustments and upgrades, it was like night and day. Before, I was feeling overwhelmed by adds and the degen. Being able to clear it quickly allowed me to focus on the dodging, now no longer feeling I needed to be constantly attacking. After being gone a while, I ran uber for the first time in over a year and failed. However, this was also in a fresh league in an underpowered hollow palm cyclone. I can't remember if it was the second or 3rd time, but I did finish him with that build albeit I died waiting for the death animation and couldn't loot as it was my last portal - and I lost two portals before that almost immediately just from walking in trying to resync into the fight. I've been bosses like Sirus and Uber Elder with different builds, but you're either needing some crazy survivability (the kind that can facetank shaper beams) or meet minimum damage thresholds without being so glass cannon you die to a cough. Yep, totally over league play.

" 100% this. The longer the boss is alive, the more chances they have to do damage and kill you, and the more likely that you'll fail to dodge this or that. " Agreed. It can be hard to find that balance, but being able to take a hit gives you time to recover from a mistake, which can make all the difference. I'm still trying to figure out how to boost my necromancer's damage without sacrificing my survivability. More hymns for Cassia when?
