over 2500 hours and ive never beat an endgame boss...
Most of my playtime was on xbox, but thats besides my cry for help here. I feel like there is some super secret piece to the PoE puzzle that i just dont understand. I tried sirus with several builds, never beat him, and those bosses that drop the fragments to get to the other bosses, but never can seem to beat all four. i follow guides, i study poe.ninja, i watch what streamers do, i learn from other players in the community, I feel as if i know the game well enough to succeed, but alas i do not... I dont know what Im doing wrong, but it is obviously something significant when so many other players can accomplish in a week what ive been trying for literally years. I dont want to give up and come back in two or three leagues again, i want a modicum of progress, of success, even if it is something small. I can never make money like veryone else either because of this, and i cant spend 40+hours a week playing either(if i could i probably would lol). But seriously, this forum is my last hope, please send any advise my way, it would be much appreciated!

I would suggest playing on Standard. Everything you have worked towards previously is there, and if you don't have a lot of time to play, you don't have to worry about everything going away at the end of the league.
In terms of builds - I would suggest something that leaves you free to dodge boss skills while still doing damage. This would include things like Totems and Damage over Time builds. I don't have any specific recommendations. |

The mine/trap build were my fav for a long while. maybe i will focus on those more again. but standard is dumb, its just where old metas go to die lol thanks for the response nonetheless!

Most bosses are simply about learning the mechanics and then avoiding those.
Initially those fights are borderline impossible but once you learned how to do it, its suddenly very easy to do. I would recommend trying builds that heavily invests into slow effects, giving you more time to react and learn the fights. Wintertide brands or cold dot builds generally speaking are very good at this. Brands are also super easy to play, so Id recommend Wintertide as Elementalist. Elementalist is a glasscanon and defensively not very strong but can guarantee strong chills and shocks, slowing bosses down big time. If you additionally invest into "non damaging ailment effects" the chills are even more powerful. Maybe add temporal chains or aspect of the spider if you want to. The point is: You can slow Sirus and it takes him about 1 second in between him yelling "Die!" and actually launching his beam. Thats plenty time to react and dodge him manually. Ive recommended this skill to other players struggling with the Sirus fight. They tried to stack as much dmg as they could before and were surprised how easy it is to beat him even if they are only dealing some 3-400k dps. It did take a while for sure but they were able to dodge everything, stay in the fight and eventually beat him - whereas before they would go in, get slapped across the face and devolve into "headless chicken" mode until they ran out of portals. |

" if this is the case, i think you continue playing this lvl 66 seismic trapper you have in the current league. seismic trap is an extremely powerful skill and you will not be gated in terms of power when it comes to tackling endgame bosses. you will however have to figure out how to gear it properly, but everything you need is gonna be readily available for very cheap. plenty of guides on various seismic trap flavours exist as well, pure phys crit, poison, cold conversion etc this is gonna be the absolutely easiest way forward if you want to do this now the most important thing is to not abandon a build and reroll once you reach a wall, especially if it is a build that is known to be good. research how to improve and keep upgrading and tweaking. a 10% increase in power might not seem like much if you are getting absolutely annihilated, but things add up quickly and many 1.1 multipliers can quickly double your power Last edited by jewdas12#5648 on Mar 24, 2022, 8:34:57 AM

Have you tried playing a very tanky build - like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCuNCvRVwCU

Play minions :)
Personal bias aside I think the easiest solution to beating all the endgame Bosses atm is get your build to the 'I-have-20-million-damage-lol' stage. I know skeletons and carrion golems hit this fairly comfortably on a budget but plenty of other non-minion builds can hit it too especially traps/mines. Once you have the damage the fights / phases are only like 5 seconds and with 6 portals it's very hard to fail. + if you go this route your build can likely farm various content super fast compared to trying to build a more tanky or balanced build. You're paying for 6 portals. Use em ;) "The key to winning any fight is simply staying alive."

And this is why I pay 10 chaos for people to help me in endgame boss kills, chuckles.

After reviewing your build on PoB. A few things.
You only have 87% inc life on the tree and you are rocking 3.5k life. This is bad in and of itself. You are not running any defensive aura's. Where is determination/grace/defiance banner. Molten Shell is stronger with more armour > Determination. DPS is pretty ok 1.1mil for clearing maps but its pretty low trying to kill bosses. I'm interested where you got your build from. As others have said just overall certain skills are tough for bosses. DoTs/Traps/Minions/Totems are usually very good just because it gives you freedom to move around. Overall I think you should really look into adding defensive layers. 72% attack and 53% spell block no Suppression or Defensive auras is just gonna leave you dead on the ground a lot. Here is some changes. It does lower your overall dps by a bit but the amount you survive is huge and this is without spell suppression. https://pastebin.com/fyrSs2DJ <- My PoB Effective Hit Pool 110k 4.5k life 1.7k ES https://pastebin.com/K9mcYkWd <- Your PoB Effective Hit Pool 25k 3.5k life 1.6k ES I'm not claiming to be a great player. These are just changes I would make myself and suggesting to you or anyone else to help fix your problems. Good Luck. I actually found the build you are looking at I believe on youtube. I really just don't think it's a good build overall. Usually making non meta skills feel good requires a lot of currency and investment. Personally be more careful of where you get builds from and read reviews and ask around. <3 Last edited by TheShyShy#1731 on Mar 24, 2022, 8:47:00 PM
