Thrall of Fervor Eater of World Mobs - WTF is this Damage? Blue lightning Machine Gun Stuff
Those mobs arent even new. They are I think the same as the woman while leveling. In the Solaris Temple if im not wrong.
They are already deadly there if you are new to Poe. Remember dying to them real often and having to rerun the whole area. But now as Eater Mobs they are just insanely overpowered. Theres nothing fair or enganing about them. Either your build litterly blocks all of there attacks or you simply just die. Or you kill them half offscreen. But as non-block melee (range) builds, they are just the worst. |

" Let's be clear here. They are not the same mob anymore. Either GGG messed up and accidentally gave these mobs Resolute Technique or they are spells. The Lunaris temple mobs - Tentacle Miscreations - are shooting attack projectiles and therefore can be evaded, see my video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dq7D4wbH9k The Consuming Thrall always hit me through 95% chance to evade, and Instinct passive tree node seems to indicate it indeed is a spell as I can recover ES when hit by suppressed spell damage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcxhNrgWEj4 Btw. if you were to balance the damage of these mobs to be roughly in line with the other monsters you find in maps, given the pack size and the way they all spam their abilities at the same time, youd need to cut their damage down to about 1/10 of what it is right now.
thats how out of line these things are, i feel like they literally do 10x too much damage. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

They have the same problem as plantpotpeckers in Incursion though, their damage isn't any different to other mobs really or it falls within the usual values they just hose it out so consistently that players without block recovery get caned.
20 white skeletons will do more, its just 20 white skeletons will never actually hit you and this is what makes tittybitches so dangerous, especially with gmp or attack speed bonuses. I get what your saying Snorkle but if they tuned them to what the average mob does its a number very close to 0 lol, mobs in PoE hit hard AF they just practically never hit you. Their design space would be better with more mobs like this though they really need a random delay on their initial attack so they don't have quite such high burst. |

" i dunno man, watch this guys video again https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39UFHnRkEdo he literally gets caught with the tail end of their assault, its probably 5% of the damage burst they put out actually catches him and thats nearly his entire health pool. so theyve put out about 20x as much damage as it would take to kill him in 1 burst. now you have to figure that pack is quite small and actually youre often getting twice as many of these mobs just appear and fire in unison, thats 40x as much damage as it takes to kill an average character pumped out by mobs that spawn on your screen, if you come across them in a corridor or a bridge or other restricted space you cannot avoid their damage and its just instant death for 95% of builds. if you cut their damage down to 1/10 of what it is now, they are still putting out 2x to 4x more damage than it takes to kill a normal character in their initial burst. thats still more burst damage than pretty much any other pack of mobs in the game. i dont think ive ever died to the chaos spitter constructs in incursions, im aware they throw out mad amounts of damage, but even playing -60% chaos res characters at most they have chewed through 50% of my life. these mobs doing a similar burst will chew through 2000%+ of your life. i cant play a map like port with eater of world on it for example. i literally cant play it, if an eldritch alter spawns on a bridge i cant click it because i will just instantly die if that mob type spawns. and im playing a character with 14,500 hp. their stream of projectiles is as wide as the bridges and if you stand in it they will burn down 14,500 hp as good as instantly, you cannot react if you are not in a completely open space where you can run in a circle immediately. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

I haven't done extensive testing or anything on these guys, but I honestly haven't had any significant trouble with them. I completely believe that they're ridiculously powerful, but the fact that they haven't been an issue for the specific builds I've been running tells me a lot about what they probably are.
Theory: they deal half lightning, half physical projectile attack damage with a very high chance to crit. I also suspect that these monsters have Far Shot, although you'd expect that to show on on their monster bar the way it does for wretches. I've made 5 builds this league so far, but I've only been using a couple of them to continuously farm T16 maps. And both of those have incredibly high physical damage mitigation, coupled with systems such as Brass Dome, enfeeble, and the Sanctum of Thought notable which reduce the danger of enemy crits. Block builds seem to do well against them, as do builds capable of quickly closing to short range (without diving through the wall of buckshot, I mean). |

I try to pack in some crit reduction in all builds. I think at some point I had around 50% from the tree? But even on no crit rolled maps those hurt like hell without Block.
Running Determination with around 50k Armour as "standard" nowadays. I only noticed a spike in survival against them when I got my Something Flesh Jewel, setting my Cold and Lightning res also to 87% 78% cold/lightning didnt do much against them. Havent played a evasion based build this league and removed Grace from my RF build as I didnt notice any improvement in survival. But noticed an increase in survival due to more damage then lol. Either go insane Tank or insane DPS Build. Middleground just gets punished in PoE. At least in the Endgame to my experience |
