ALT while mouse hovering an item in the ground is not working anymore.
" Ok, it is understood that it is intended, but what was the intention behind this change? What does it improve? Because it surely makes dropped items feel a lot worse, so there has to be some upside to it, right? |

"Last post in this thread is > 3 months old so I guess this is a bump to keep the thread open. Also, I've been out of touch with PoE this league but have been monitoring GGG posts and haven't seen any explanation about this. Do we have any kind of answer to this yet? Do we know if any of the third party UIs have added on-ground mod (range) identifying to bring this functionality back (or at least partially offset the reduced QoL)? Do we have any 'opposing camp' explanations as to why this is a good UI change? Edit: The thread in Feedback and Suggestions (no GGG-post): https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3256492 Edit2: So it looks like the only 'opposing camp' explanations in that thread are conspiracy theories about hampering bots and increasing 'item weight'. This is the start of forum signature: I am not a GGG employee. About the username: Did you know Kowloon Gundam is made in Neo Hong Kong?

"I take your point but it's also great for a third party tool with bot-like intelligence (screen reading, item mod database) which doesn't interact with the client thus as far as we know should be within the rules (and undetectable). Which means the gap between the casual players who just launch-and-play PoE and those running an entire library of tools widens even further... all because *functionality* was removed from the game. I'm having a real hard time wrapping my head around this one, and an even harder time just letting it go as yet another 'mystery of the devs'. |
