Pressing ALT while the mouse pointer is over an item in the ground is not showing anymore its advanced description.

This is intended. Displaying the mod level/tiers on an item on the ground has been removed.

The patch note for the change was:
Using the Highlight Key when hovering dropped items now displays minimum and maximum defensive values again.

Ok ok ok. Now we know it's intended.

I've created this thread in the feedback section asking for a rollback.

Thanks.

re-intend it and add it back in because removing it has made the game worse for no upside

Intended? I call shenanigans on this as filters can still examine and show/hide items by using HasExplicitMod condition. Why intentionally make it so item filters can know the tiers, but your players now have to remember hundreds of affix names and/or number ranges?

EDIT: For the sake of absolute clarity, we're referring to items that have already been identified.

Yes, the way it currently works ingame is intended.

Would you please consider releasing a statement explaining the development philosophy behind this decision? A mini-manifesto or something, why/how the pros outweigh the cons, etc?

It seems that a lot of players (myself included) can't understand the benefit of (partially) removing the functionality of seeing mod tiers/ranges (and descriptions) of items on the ground. Is this just a fundamental change or a "we should never have shown that information, now it's fixed" situation? If so doesn't that just push players even further toward relying on 3rd party tools (since the tools can show, at least partially, mod tiers/ranges)?

If this change was because when using ALT on an item that was dropped identified also brought up all the items that are filtered on a map, why didn't the dev split the ALT-highlight feature in two?

A key combo like SHIT-ALT or CTRL-ALT to show all the items hidden by the item filter, and use the ALT key be used to solely highlight the advanced stats of an item on the floor that was dropped identified. Just like it behaves when we use ALT on an item that's in the inventory.

That's how thing should have been from the very beginning since both highlight do a different thing, to avoid issue like when trying to highlight the stats of an item that was dropped identified on a map and also bring up all the mess that was hidden by the filter.

Removing the feature that allowed us to check advanced stats on an item that had dropped Identified or not won't stop people from hitting the ALT key and create server spikes or whatever/why-ever, the heck, else this feature was the removed. It's right next to the space bar and bellow 12345/QWERT keys.

Please unintend this. This change is a significant inconvenience when deciding whether to pick up an item or not.

all that because some teenagers couldn't concentrate on the game because of the stuff on the second monitor and then blame the game for wrist problems?

Wait do people realy use same key for highlighting and picking up loot? I can't imagine it. I set it to diferent keys even before loot filters.

EDIT: Nevermind, I got it wrong. Problem is purely in highlighting.

I used the ALT key to show advanced mod descriptions for dropped veiled items on the ground, to check for a specific syndicate member's veiled modifier.

Now I have to pick up the veiled items and check them in my inventory instead, and so sometimes it happens that I don't have enough space in my inventory and have to drop an item first, to check the veiled items' modifiers.

Please consider adding back being able to see advanced mod descriptions for items on the ground, or at least make the hovered item on the ground show the name of the veiled modifier on pressing the ALT key.

Whilst I am 100% in agreement that I would like to see advanced mod descriptions re-enabled for items on the ground, you can make your loot filter highlight a specific member's mods differently.

Filterblade by default groups them into "expensive member-specific mods" and "member-specific mods", but you can tweak them to highlight whichever member or members you most care about.
