Maven - No call for change?

I think by now I've tried about 10-20+ times and its the memory games that fails the encounter for me 100% of the time, I was fast at getting into the Sirus fight when he came out and I had no issues with him pre-nerf, he immediately received tons of nerfs and Maven is yet here with what seems as a ridicules mechanic that should be reworked or removed.

how is it a ridiculous mechanic, only because you're having trouble with it?
no offense, but it is super easy to play... like, i play SSF and have not those insane dps builds, yet, i kill her...

sry, but for me this fight is simply about learning how to dance with maven, nothing else... this shouldnt be changed, only because the players are unable/ dont want to learn and play mechanics...
Someone said they typed in chatbox letter codes for the directions, like LRURLU = Left, Right, Up, Right, Left, Up.

If you forget, just look at chat.

All well and good until you get to the third phase and have to dodge spinning lasers while typing out pattern. :P
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley
Your not alone.

I personally think the game mechanic of a memory game does not fit the style of an ARPG like PoE. It kind of feels out of place.

The fact is, im just super bad at this memory game. I usually fail to just see what tiles have been lit up whilst dodging laser beams and having other mtx effects blur my dislectic vision.
So I always fail the end phase memory game.
What annoys me the most here is the fact you can not dogde or tank the death wave (there is a few build out there that claim to be able to tank it, but those or mirror trier things).

Pre 3.17 it was just fine. Tried the fight a few times, always failed this phase. Never played maven anymore and considered it as optional content.

Now in 3.17, awakened gems and part of atlas completion has been moved to her, making her kind of the main boss in 3.17..
You could still argue you don't need the last orb as there is no need to have all maps t16, you can just buy awakened gems or a maven fight carry(if you do not play ssf) and whatever. But to its annoying how it's no longer feeling as optional.

I still feel the mind game is a bit weird and out of place in Poe but I don't even want to ask to remove it, but atleast add or chance something to the death wave. Make it more like for example the sirus beam. That thing hurts a ton, but a well made build could tank it, and the alert player could dodge it in time.
If I'm not mistaking (and correct me if I'm wrong) the death wave is the only mechanic in the whole game that can not either be dodges or tanked (mirror tier builds not counted) in the whole game.

Anyway, that's just my 2cent on the subject.

its awful, i lost my fight during movement because as melee its not that easy. I changed back to the field im coming from because i wanted to head back from the beams and maven pushes to fast for me. With frostblink that can not have second wind this game is stupid. Im to slow for this shit game using frostblink and not cappable of doing the "simon says game" without touching lasers because im to slow, and the stupid circle from maven increased to fast in size.

Second i died some times due to her attacks outside of my view and jumped directly into her without seeing what she is doings, thanks again to meleeeee...
The memory game does not get easier with experience. it is as awful as I remember it from Ritual, despite downing her maybe 30 times as of now? I don't tend to farm stuff unless I have to.

Maven suffers from information overflow for me.
- small balls do practically nothing
- small balls that drop hole are sound telegraphed but I can't get used to catching the queue
- big explosion is brain dead
- Barrage is mostly harmless
- ground beams are mostly harmless
- Squid drop I tend to miss so that's usually extra death
- alternate beams that negate regen .. that's the most annoying after memory game

it is one of the fights where too many things occur at once, half of them are there just ... just because I think.

I killed maven with two different builds this league. Both work with "click once and dmg is there" while being able to just walk around.
Can't imagine doing this crap as melee.

I am not speaking on behalf of someone else and I don't get offended by things that have nothing to do with me.

3.13 was the golden age.
the memory game itself isnt the problem (for me atleast)

when you dodge lasers in last phase its simply hard to see which area gets highlighted if yoyu cant get into a good spot too see atleast a goo part of 2 areas

a simply overlay or highlighting it on the map as well would help so much and it would be some easy to add...
sadly ggg loves poor visibility on some deadly mechanics
Love the Character but hate the Hearthstone vibes

At least there are legitimately a lot of bosses now
I have never felt further from what I know and love
Maven fight is pretty bad. The memory game is a tragedy and the rotating beams are terrible.

I lost a maven encounter earlier because during the rotating beam portion she would just hang in the center doing nothing which made a section that is already terrible for melee essentially impossible for cyclone. lmao

I don't know if they changed how movement skills interact with the beams but last I checked they punished non-teleport skills which are already inferior for basically everything.
