Lost Ark is POE Killer

Let’s see how many months could lost ark survive.

I mean, it survived for several years in Korea, Japan and Russia, having collective concurrent player average higher than PoE, so I have faith in its ability to remain for quite some time in the west and NA. I will be extremely surprised if it maintains the same crazy player count, but I can see it remain with a healthy playerbase on EU\NA for years to come.

However, like I said before, I don't see it taking many PoE players away. Besides, PoE new leagues usually remain active for about a month (sometimes even 2 weeks), so people can easily play PoE at league launch and then come back to LA, playing both games at the same time.
Nah, Lost Ark is another generic Korean MMO game but with top down camera, it has nothing to do with POE. POE is still king in its genre.

I dont understand why you would say it's ok to be small, then be in defiance when anyone says maybe PoE would be better off small, or is small in comparison to another title. Stop being defensive if that's what you really think, unless you just want to argue and play devils advocate.

Don't sweat it, we can't understand everything. Like you also can't understand the difference between "small" and "irrelevant". PoE is a small, niche game in the grand scheme of things - especially when you're hellbent on comparing it to AAA titles in other genres, or established IP's with a massive history made be some of the biggest companies in the world. But is it "irrelevant" in the ARPG genre? FAR from. Hell, you could even argue it's currently the biggest, most successful game in its genre.

Really do you want PoE to be massively popular or not? Im fairly certain in the past we have discussed this due to the huge casual vs elite player gulf that has been widening since Harvest. If I'm not mistaken, you have indicated that this isn't a good idea generally speaking, that PoE is likely better without many casuals, and maintaining a niche status. We actually agree here, and that was my point.

I want PoE to be as successful as it can be, without losing its identity, its complexity and its depth.

In my post that you quoted, that you conveniently left out, I indicated that it's ok for PoE not to be a widely played game. I wish the Devs, their marketing team, and the community, would understand this a bit better, rather than constantly pitted against each other.

I think they understand it better than you think.

On a general note, I still think you're underestimating the numbers PoE is reaching - and has been reaching for the last five years. I don't have the numbers, but if we combine Steam, standalone, Xbox and PS, I think we would reach numbers that hardly could define the game as "irrelevant".

Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

I didn't reinforce the opposite side at all. My example was strategy games. We just got Age of Empires 4 last year. From Microsoft. Microsoft is the biggest company in the world...

You did, you talked about how nobody would make diablo because of doom ignoring that the last triple A arpg was diablo because of CoD and rpgs :p, they already don't make games because something else is successful and they chase that.

Love that Microsoft made another age of empires and I personally really enjoy playing it, we just got TW3 too so hopefully RTS is on the up and we get more but lets say i'm cautiously optimistic.

AoE4 was released 16 years after 3 aswell so keep that in mind ;p its like they are only just getting over the problem but hey progress is progress and more representation is better.

Name a better game. Hint: if you say Diablo 2, I'ma laugh at you.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
"My game with a microscopic playerbase is more alive than your game with a microscopic playerbase, my niche game is the killer of your niche game"
Probably I will quite POE soon later.
I am sick of loosing EXP.
Feeling like I am just wasting time with no earning anything.
Only getting stress, anger, etc
I am downloading Lost Ark now lol

Meanwhile you're over here trolling saying its a better game without presenting ANY DANGED THING that it does better than POE.

It has sexier waifus than PoE. 'Nuff said. :p

Waifus with male genitals because Smilegate failed meshing 3D modeling on emotes. Also it’s directly stolen from Black Desert
