Don't you think you are taking grasping vines too far??
^but that's precisely what I'm saying: travel skills aren't much used in actual combat situations except for bosses, which is why Flame Dash is usually the overall better choice. Frostblink has more usefulness in combat, absolutely, but that doesn't really matter if that's only accounting for 5-10% of the time you would actually be using that skill. You are wasting the other 90%, or at least slowing yourself down.
Regarding quicksilver: why not both? You move super fast with your movespeed and quicksilver and then dash over obstacles and extra boosts in speed. Once people get the damage and defense numbers they want, the min/maxing is all about speed speed speed. Why would you ever use a slower method if your entire goal is speed? Not saying Frostblink is bad in any way, just that it doesn't do the same job that flame dash does. There is a very specific reason the vast majority of builds use it over frostblink and other skills. Every single movement skill in this game has its pros and cons, but flame dash (and a well setup leap slam) are unequivocally the fastest map movement skills. Not to mention they have the special diagonal distance buff. You could also run both? I've seen many builds (mostly bosskillers) that run a juking blink skill AND a general purpose movement skill. This Grasping Vines topic is only actual for my melee cyclone character, and flame dash works bad with cyclone. You have to stop spinning, do a dash animation, and then your move can still be blocked in some messy cases.
While blink relocates you without any animation and preserves current channeling state (and removes vines, lol). As for slowing down, I am running generic mob pack size/mob pack amount juicing Atlas Tree with 4 sextants and 11 favored map slots (farming maps like Toxic Sewer on them). All that results in maps barely having a free space between mob packs, so my 90% time is spent spinning anyway. I understand why ranged builds may wish to use things like flame dash, but the delay in both casting and executing the dash feels annoying to me. |

Grasping Vines is a real pain in the ass.
It's not a matter of some builds being able to avoid it or anything like that. It's just a substitute that frustrates people. |

I have not noticed any grasping vines at all, or increase in such, are you sure you are not running the unique jewel that vines you.

I am 100% sure i am not runnign that jewel xD
I don't know how you haven't noticed it.. Are you sure you are looking at the screen while playing? :P |

Yep - I just quit the game because of this mechanic. The game is not playable in this state. Grinding Gear Games? More like Grasping Vines Games.
Every. Map. 80% of the enemies have grasping vines. I'm out. |
