Non-Aura Skills Cost no Mana or Life while Focused seems to be missing from archnemesis

I do have a question related to this.

i am doing an ascendant cwc cyclone ball lightning CF.

Currently my CF require 6.2k life to activate. What i do at the start of the map is remove the empower ( now it has 3.6k life activation) and put the empower back.

My question - Once i activate without the empower and then put the empower back, does CF still gets the extra buffs( levels, damage etc) from the empower gem or does it stay at the level/damage that i would have with empower?
