Bartering Tab Idea (Auction House Alternative)
" I didn't say 'equally'... They can all play and progress without it being a cakewalk! Easy trading would force GGG to make balance changes that would make it difficult or impossible for non-trading players. " Because it is not just THAT player who'll get easy maps, but ALL trading players... and map drops will have to be adjusted down to the severe detriment of non-trading players. |

" I think they should do differential equation capcha on every login because right now you can login to the game without any challenge. Why everything should be a challenge? Getting 5 minutes of actual gameplay where you like just killing things is a challenge? Wtf? |

everything that only has 1 use (maps/orbs/fragments) should be easier tradeable
items should be traded as they currently are ofc this is just what i would love to see the problem is,if you give players an easy trade option for "consumables" they gona crazy and demanding it for normal items as well i dont see a point in restricting consumables by more than the droprate, there will always be a demand for them |

We have some severe differences in opinion here so lets try to keep that in mind and watch how high we let the flames get :P A particular poster in here is running counter-narrative to my ideal outcome but their personal experience is in some different areas of POE than mine which will i hope result in a more balanced final determination if one is ever reached in the thread.
I think we can safely assume that everyone here on this forum wants the game to do well even if we cant agree on how that would be achieved or what it would look like. This is a beautiful rpg sandbox and i have so enjoyed building many things over the years but not even being able to finish one character to upper min max ranges this league.. I was maybe because of enlightens new price about 60ex shy of reaching 75% build completion with the last 25% not being more than a couple ex per slot and beyond that then being around 10-20ex+ for any upgrade beyond which for this tier of equipment is pretty reasonable but by the time you get there your gear is strong enough to support digging in that deep. and im just so sick and tired of the cheaters winning... Imagine i just want to make a few builds a league.. But the people playing the game to make real $ some of which make well over 1000$ USD per league, the people who buy it from them and all the botters really ruin it for me.. What little sense i had of playing a game kind of goes out the window at that point as i can clearly see just how little all of my contributions to my own goals add up versus these people. Playing since before the trade api was added i was still able to collect a vast amount of items including many perfect rolls of now legacy items worth a great deal via the $trade chat and lots of other stuffs and i have to say when the trade api was added and the market opened up i played POE more than ever before and continued to do so with increased frequency especially during good patches going on to do as many as 6-8 builds a league in some cases. The trade api seems to have only made POE better while the meta does constrain its potential when functioning healthily the trade api enables play and the bartering tabs are a bit of a control mechanism to keep prices from being over-manipulated by third partys who's interests are aligned only with making money for non game purposes. Idk what else to say.. like 35,000 hours later im just about spent.. Please take some action GGG even if that action is just discussing new solutions internally.. Give the game back to the players. " Technically i shouldn't continue this as its quite pointless but okay, i still have some coffee to drink... So, how exactly the game is not "a cakewalk" for player A from my previous post? He buys everything over a couple days to make it so, hehe. Also, speaking of "easy trade", those "r1ch and suxxcesful" often have guilds with dedicated "traders" doing the monkey job for them, so again, how "hard" is the current oh-so-magnificient trade for them? Finally, speaking of "easy maps" and whatnot, maps do still need to be completed to produce more maps, hehe (except 3:1 recipe), so it won't magically double their quantity on teh Holy Market. Also, after certain point, even filthy SSF scrub like me stops buying them from vendors. Same goes for these common cheap items - nobody needs them in dozens except for trying to get a specific corruption implicit. Oh, and technically, the "easy trade" can be easily crippled in a million way too - say limiting the maximum price to one stack of lesser pixel currencies, up to say 10 chaos orbz or 20 chisels, whatever is bigger; or limiting the amount of automatic transactions per account per time slice and so on. And it even won't ruin teh Holy VISION™ as the expensive shit would be traded the ye olde way, whispers, scammers et all. And even if that's too "unholy", why not make a simple crutch that lets you turn the trade PM into some form of hash, containing the seller/item/price information, which you can copypaste somewhere, and if you have enough "moneyz", the seller gets a simple "yes/no" popup regardless of his current location which can complete the transaction almost the same way, but without scamming (okay, it can even be some NPC with the same trade interface where you can put your "moneyz" to make it more tedious). Anyway, my coffee is finished so am i, hehe. Teh Holy Order of Trade Manifesto Zealots wouldn't be convinced by anything, and nothing will be done anyway. No point in limiting the space. Just make it a purchasable quad tab.
Anything that will remove the need to spam 50 people for a simple trade, would be great though. "There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. " ~ Hunter S Thompson ~

I brought up a similar concept a while back but it was an NPC.
Bringing it back to the old school days of Ultima Online. You can load up the NPC with items at various prices. You can set them as haggle or flag them only sell to a specific person. The NPC functions as a middle man. You control it but it deals with sales and invites. The perk of using an NPC is the items are no longer bound to your character/stash. Players can visit this NPC when you're not online. When you come back you can claim the returns. This method worked very well back in the day when players relied on each other for crafted goods. If my buddy smith wasn't on. I could visit their house vendor. Often with something set aside for me. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

" I've posted on the NPC concept a few times but I'd be interested to see your thoughts on it and the Ultima Online seems pretty cool, Was off in Final Fantasy 11 for my mmorpg days with a full blown auction house with sales history. It was pretty hard to fix prices because people cant see your listings only the sales that have happened, kind of makes me chuckle thinking about the desperate souls trying to pull fixer scams, You could buy out something to change the sale listing but it was a big gamble and people could see your name buying it all. The NPC idea sounds really good.
Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!
