Answered thread about poe2 gem system
" We actually don't know that at all. They could easily surpise us and launch it in February. I'm not expecting them to, but it would be charactaristic of them. They love their surprises. If you were around for the launch of the 3x3->10 act transistion, you would know that no one expected it. Something similar is likely to happen with PoE2. Expect to be surprised. |

off the top of my head half remembering info from a year+ ago...
" youll use jewellers on your gems and it will randomise the amount of sockets. all the sockets on the gems will always count as linked. fusing will not exist, all existing fusing in perm leagues will be converted to jewellers at a sensible rate. " youll use chromatics on the gem to randomise its support socket colours. i presume, i hope, we can also use them on the armour pieces to randomise the skill socket colours. given a pure evasion build or a pure armour build will still need to use blue skills for example they have to really, so if its not in the current plan then the plan wont survive contact with reality and they will change it imo. " presumably any skill socketed in that item will be supported by that gem, same as ever. " unknown " its sockets will be white and it will have an extra skill gem socket. " youll put all your auras in 1 meta gem and then turn them all on and off with 1 button. presumably either enlighten will be able to be socketed into it or the meta gem itself will have the properties of enlighten? we dunno, they probably dont know either. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

" First of all I'm not your Bro. Secondly watch the deep dive, Jonathan Rogers literally explains exactly what you ask. Items that grant stills will add a new gem socket to your "skills panel" and things like cast on critical strike etc will become new "meta gems". " Ok bro chill, sorry bro didn't mean to offend you bro, we cool bro?? Bro bro bro bro?? Is that enough bro? Bro? |

" Guy, bud, pal, dude are sometimes used in a less than friendly manner. But isn't bro almost always considered friendly? Maybe not in your last post but I don't think it was being mean. Serious question. Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!

Why another thread? There won't be linking, and Chromatics change colors like they always have. It's really not that complicated.

" It's more complicated than that. There won't be links in items, but there will be links for skill gems themselves. (Or the ability to socket a certain number of support gems in the skill gem, depending on how you view it.) The higher the level of the gem, the greater the number of support-gem links. It also sounds as if gems will need to go above 20 on a routine basis in order to link 5 support gems. The details are still unknown. In my mind, it makes sense to include a vendor recipe where you sell a legacy 6-linked item with a skill gem, and get back a non-linked item with the skill gem of a high enough level to link 5 support gems. Also, chromatic orbs might not be exactly the same either, necessarily, since item sockets are supposed to add hybrid colours: red/green for instance.
