First time fighting Sirus
Hmm, conflicted.
If you intentionally dont want to look up a fight to make it harder/funner, then find it is hard.... At the same time, the Sirus fight is the worst. Multiple invulnerability phases, it does not feel like fighting him, rather a weird game of whack-a-mole. |

I feel you.
First time I went in ... I literally used all my portals and still couldnt even locate him. I wasnt careful on what I was treading on ... and boy did those black pools bite. 2nd time, managed to see him. But didn't really realised what was going on. Thought I would do it just pure speed and power. Again ... quick death. As it was really a pain to just spawn him ( long process ), I started watching youtubes on how to defeat him. I am really glad I did. To be fair ... how would we expect what to do without watching youtube is beyond me. Just like catarina fights. If we didn't do things in the correct order ... we just be wasting dps on their immune phases. After watching the youtubes a few more time ... I slowly managed to inch my way slowly through the various phases. I think it took me about my 7th try before I actually killed him on my own. It was a real achievement for myself. I stood up hoping people will congratulate me. But nobody cared. And the fact that I was at work didnt help either. Within a few more tries, I managed to defeat him even without losing a life. The few tips I learnt : 1. Stay close to him. Like literally beside him. So that you can see what he is doing. 2. If you havent killed him before, try to remove to min awakening level so that Sirus is at his easiest. 3. I optioned for enemies to have their health bar above them. When Sirus health bar disappear, means he is no longer taking damage. Though he might hang around for just 2-3 more seconds to shoot out a few more beams before he transits to his next phase. I used to still stand around trying to dps the last drop from him ... but often I get myself shot out during that phase. So once health bar above him disappears ... just concentrate on running away from his beams. Hope this helps. |

You hit the nail on the head when you mentioned Immune Phases. Why do these exist in an ARPG? Where are there phases period? It's like they stole WoW raid bosses and stuck them in the game. And while people can get past it, it still feels really clunky, at least to me, in a game inspired by Diablo.

" Technically, you did not kill him by your own - you had the help of youtube. |

I've beaten him several times, but it's a stupid fight nevertheless. And also feels like a complete RNG - sometimes I can kill him deathless, and sometimes I lose all portals without even doing any substantial damage to him on the same character, gear and same awakening level.

You have to learn the fight mechanics. Going in blind with Sirus is just a bad idea. And even going with a lot of research will likely end badly.
They did one thing this league that I don't agree with, which is the first fight with Sirus is now A8 unless you remove your watchstones. No one that is new to the fight/mechanic will even realize that is how you tone down the fight and make it more beginner friendly. Overall, I like the Sirus fight. I tend to die to the degen ground effects when I die since I think it deactivates your regeneration or has a very large decreased recovery. I've never looked it up. It's just something to avoid entirely. There is just a lot going on to pull your attention to make you miss them on the ground. With practice the fight becomes somewhat trivial. One simple thing to note is that he always faces the direction he teleports so you always know where to go when he does. The one thing I think they should do is remove the need to walk under him floating in his throne. The first time I did the fight I had no idea that's how you make him come down. I spent like 10 minutes wondering WTF is going on. That's just not intuitive at all. Thanks for all the fish!

" Yeah ... I figured out you have to go up and stand under him after trying to fight him 5-6. When I had nowhere to run (a lot of orbs around me) and I ran away to run through him to the other side. I realized that I was wasting a lot of time because I need just standing underneath it. |

So, I just went into the "Mastermind" fight from the Immortals Syndicate league(?) and Fought Catarina blind.
Now that is a boss fight. Not that immune for 95% bullshit Sirus was. I had no idea what I was doing, I died only once. While using 4 other portals to restock my flasks as I wasn't sure how I was taking damage. Apparently in the last Phase the center "idol" drains your soul from one of the 4 cardinal directions? I think. That is how I interpreted it. So you just need to not be on the glowing side? Then the other phases before that. With the Lieutenants. I am not sure if I did it properly, but she became immune and my Soul was being dragged to one of the outer.. things? The longer I was in there, the more it glowed. Then my health got chunked, but Catarina was no longer immune. Either way, I doubt I did the strats properly. But, for going in blind, AND defeating her. It felt good. Maybe I will watch a guide now. But, seriously. Such a much better designed fight. I also did the Grove Tree boss lady Blind, and Killed her. Gaining 5 more slots in my Horticulture bench. Though, that one was pure Luck. I had no idea what was going on there and face tanked a few 1 shots. She kept teleporting around the map and.. well. That one I can't rank until I give it another go. Sirus still bad! I didn't forget! Last edited by Mabuz#5315 on Nov 15, 2021, 9:21:16 PM

The biggest problem for me with Sirus is that the whole fight is all black and red and I can't see anything properly.

" There is way too much of the black/red color scheme, you get eye blind from it after a while. The immortal phases are pure bogus. I thought in the immortal words of the witch "Everything Dies". Get rid of the phases. If someone has enough DPS to melt a fight in 0.01 seconds then they get to move on to other things. All the immortal phases do is punish casuals and mimic other games. |
