How do you datamine path of exile?
poedb and others datamined the content.ggpk file. We how can I do it because wiki & poedb is way off. Like they say Burning Blood div card is in Lava chamber when there is no Lava Chamber anymore. It's really frustrating all these sites are out of date on a lot of these cards when half the atlas was wiped out and they still show original location.

You know what is actually frustrating?
GGG outsourcing legitimate QoL to 3rd party tools and the community because its cheap. I mean how hard would it be to have every div card in the associated stash tab available, but grey out until obtained, that's shows where you can get it (similar to the crafting bench recipes). This is one of the areas that really annoys me about GGG. They have zero developmental shame when it comes to QoL and user accessibility. Yes indeed. And they wont tell you either you must datamine and/or rely on others to do it.
I've contacted support and they say "Unfortunately we are unable to speculate on gameplay mechanics at Support." They are so lucky poedb/fandom wiki is out there or game really would die. (thanks to all contributors BTW) Git R Dun! Last edited by Aim_Deep#3474 on Nov 9, 2021, 5:55:43 PM

" Not true read the 3.16 patch notes they said where dozens of cards moved to just not all. e.g. Burning Blood which was in Lava Chamber map, which does not exist anymore. Most people just pay 3c for it. But SSF it wrecks your build if you can't plan these things out. Git R Dun! Last edited by Aim_Deep#3474 on Nov 9, 2021, 6:03:36 PM

The guy here in Taiwan who runs poedb has up to date tools. He has his own fork of PyPoE that he doesn't make available to others, for example. The old wiki definitely doesn't have up to date tools and hasn't for a while now, and the new wiki is still getting itself sorted in a lot of areas.
Using your example, poedb likely says that card can be found in Lava Chamber because that's what the game data still says. GGG removed a lot of maps but probably didn't remove various div cards' association with those maps. There is at least one good reason for that, which is that the maps still exist on Standard. Another potential reason for leaving it in would be so they can rotate maps in and out with new leagues, and not have to go and add stuff like that back in. You have to remember that much of what you see on poedb and the wikis isn't stuff intended for players to see. poedb mines the game data and publishes it for us all to pick through, but it's not curated in any way. Some of it may not make immediate sense to us but would to GGG. Especially when you have to factor in the differences between what's only available in Standard leagues and what's only available in temp leagues. Even if you could datamine it yourself, which you can't unless you know how to get the public versions of PyPoE working, you'd see the same thing you see on poedb. "It's definite transferred to another map like all of them GGG just didnt bother commenting on about 80% of the cards that lost their map. There are over 1000 listed in scourge trade. Git R Dun!

Well, another thing GGG has never done is expose the actual loot tables. We can get an awful lot of information from the ggpk, but not everything. Ask around and see where people are getting them. If they're dropping anywhere other than Phoenix, contribute to the wiki and add the new drop location(s).

" It is true. They've always done this, with lots of cards and vendor recipes; leaving it to the community to find and share information. We all remember the GCP days, am I right? You clearly disagree, and feel that all of this information should be public from the get-go - and I agree with you on that. I thought that was the whole idea with divination cards; a semi-deterministic approach. But, as I have several empathic devil's advocates living inside me, I can't help seeing it from their side too. Between PoB, datamining and other sources, there's nothing "unknown" about PoE anymore. Nothing "undiscovered". Nothing for the community to figure out. The game, as progressive as it is, is solved - from A to Z. So I do understand that they use changes like this for what they're worth, sneaking in bits and pieces for the community to hunt and solve. But, if they are to rotate maps every league and keep rotating divination card drops, this policy is not the way to go. Divination cards will lose their whole point, if we have to wait for week 4-5 to even have a slight idea about their drop locations. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
