Did you buy your loot, or farm it?
" i went ssf last league and left it to test around at the end of the league and now im again ssf, for me it feels alot more rewarding to farm stuff myself, but the majority of my 3.5k hours i played in trade so i would say i bought most of my stuff and just got recently into the ssf scene simply to get more out of a league, makes even a bad league a decent league to play in |

A mix of both.
I dont have 12 hours a day to try and get a piece of gear that i then have a 10% chance of getting the correct corruption on then a 0.1% chance of getting the correct scourge on and so on. The game's balanced around requiring trade (in its current form) to be able to gear up properly for a normal human, so if you're not doing that you're mostly just punishing yourself. I think 3 pieces of gear im using are rares i've found myself, everything else is bought although some pieces required further crafting (beyond just workbenching something on ). |

"while you are correct, the game is balanced around trading, if you however do play ssf the drops are actually not horrible, in the context of "how likely am i to drop an upgrade compared to what im currently wearing", muuuch more so than in trade league. the drops in poe mostly seem as bad as they do because you can easily aqcuire items better than what you might drop IDing 1000 rare items, which is a result of trade. the easier trade becomes the worse the drops will seem if you however compare your ssf drops to trade league gear, yeah then its absolutely shit, but thats not a relevant comparison, because trade league gear does not exist in ssf its a pretty good experience to actually sit down and play some ssf now and then. |

All this "the game is balanced around trading" are just saying they prefer a game that gives them what they want... and that's fine.
"The game" isn't even a well defined term. PoE plays fine SSF. It's just a different environment. Progress is much much slower. That doesn't make it "harder" because you have no basis for comparison. It's a totally different game with different objectives. If you play trade with the objectives of a SSF player, it's boring as fuck. If you play SSF with the objectives of a trade player it's frustrating as hell. The only problem there is you. |

I usually craft/farm early gear (white/yellow maps), buy midtier gear (moving to reds) and past that I craft again.
Midtier gear is usually quite underpriced and can be resold at a later point. Endgame gear that allows you to skip boss mechanics is usually cheaper to craft but then again I don't play the full meta builds. |

did u know how chris wilson (aka ceo of ggg) has answered the question about excessive necessity of trading in the current game to upgrade the gear, when he was asked during qa with grimro?
he said something like: "imagine if you need a pair of shoes in real life. what are you going to do? are you going to tailor them by yourself or go to a shop to buy it?" LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO dead game bring back 3.13 Last edited by Tainted_Fate#2799 on Nov 6, 2021, 11:18:18 AM

" In typical professor fashion, you attempt to redefine or question what the topic is to better suite the claim you're making. We've already established what "the game" is we're talking about. GGG has established what "the game" is that we're talking about. The only one who doesn't seem to have come to the consensus is you. If your definition matched the consensus, you wouldn't feel the need to point out that, in your eyes, "the game" isn't a well defined term. PoE is terrible in SSF. There's too many things spread around with drop rates being so low as to prevent any meaningful progress to anyone except those with both the most expendable time and extensive knowledge of the game. Case in point, the state of your gear. And, to put this to rest, GGG, and Chris Wilson who is currently in the process of vaal-bricking the game with no backup, have said SSF is purely for self challenge. They do not expect you to do actually be able to complete anything there. |

SSF isn't that bad. You can get decent stuff... not always great but good enough:
Spoiler
^ Some examples for those interested. It's not super A+ great... but it's a solid B in most cases which gets you through the game. I agree though SSF plays different. What you value as a player changes perspective completely. Very fun way to play the game. (only way I play it lol). |
