Is it worth 75% spell dodge and 50/50 blocks?

Playing around with a raider, and it seems one could get 75% spell dodge, 27K armour, 50 spell block and 50 attack block without too much expense.

But I don't know much about end game. Is there still damage over time, ground effects and terrain killing you - meaning you are better off getting life or regen or recovery instead?

Would 500K shaper dps be able to achieve anything, say in yellow maps with the new really high monster HP?

You are not going to kill even Sirus 4 with it.

If a build can't reach a reliable 2M DPS by level 97 then it's trash no matter what.

Also you have to consider that 50% spell block and 75% spell dodge isn't that good.

It's essentially 87% spell dodge.

Is ~30 point investment worth 12 spell dodge?

Nah, this ammount of defense is as good as running naked.
And 500k sdps is considered unplayable even as league starter, because today league starters that are even considered got 5mil sirus dps. The only exception are things that delete half the map on one cast (mostly chaos dots, ignites)


Imagine doing for example slayer instead and just leech 10k life/sec
it is something that always works and that alone is enough to beat defenses that you mention. And works against dots and any other damage source plus needs no extra gear.

Both builds will get crushed by instant kills so both need the same ammount of es/hp. What is advantage of your at that point, to be 30% less likely to receive the instant gib? Not so impressive especially because of stuff that can not be blocked.





It is not bad idea, to get some block and spell supression(is it dodge or supression) it just is not epic on raider but kind of side thing which you pick if you feel like your dps and flat es/life is enough.

My "doesn't really matter" point was referring to the order of spell block/suppression. As for confirmation on other things having nothing to do with this thread, those shouldn't really matter to you anyhow, because streamer priority did happen :)

Because glancing blows exist it could actually matter. +on block procs
which goes first could be important for the calculation.

Sure if something is going to be 100% negated damage wise anyway we do not care, but when you take 35% of the blocked damage it can matter. But it does still depend on the damage formula which i do not know.

It could be made in a way that it would not matter, and it could be made in a way that it does change the resulting damage received by thousands

Ok fair enough. I was just pointing out that there are quite a few things we dont have a full understanding on at the moment.

Edit: As a side note, I might actually play a little bit early on this league. Before the LA beta, and certainly not continuing after the FFXIV expansion later in Nov.

Either way the streamer priority thread was about playing without supporting. That is still 100% happening. No more money from me, ever. (They got enough anyway)
