Unfair advantage
" Harvest was balanced around TFT whether you used it or not. So the ingame content was balanced around this private discord channel. |

" I can buy that Harvest was balanced around the ability to trade. But TFT wasn't and isn't the only way to trade. It's disingenuous to say Harvest was balanced around TFT as if there were no other option. - here's my sig

" Ok, Ill ask - what is the other option to trade high end harvest crafts, or sell them? Random stranger you give your mirror tier item to, with not even an account name or TFT reputation on the line? |
|
" Is there something special that I'm missing about TFT that gives it monopoly power? It's just a discord channel that a group of players put together and others found useful. There's nothing forcing you to use it nor from creating another one if TFT doesn't work for you. It's not like TFT fell fully-formed from the sky to be used by the chosen few, impossible to replicate. What I'm pushing back on is the lazy whining that "some people made a club and I'm not invited" and equating that to "game devs systematically exclude some players and give an unfair advantage to others" which is clearly bullshit. Don't like TFT? Make your own. - here's my sig

" Apparently, yes. So high end harvest crafts are rare individually, and only abundant when you have.... I dont know, a few thousand people (not at the same time, just ongoing population) pooling and trading them. Starting your own is pointless, 5 people in a channel is not going to substantially increase crafts. GGG made a mechanic that worked perfectly for TFT to monopolize, acknowledged this, and has not fixed it. Whining they are not invited? Im already in TFT... I just think its pure stupidity for GGG to acknowledge your success in this game depends on third party access to a site where you can be kicked at the whim of a forum troll. And then we have white knights like you, not even familiar with what TFT is, arguing its not a monopoly, when Chris already clarified that they understood that is is a monopoly in his Harvest nerf post. " Good thing the TFT folks didn't start with that attitude. I guess we have one site now, that's good enough. If it doesn't work for you, then declare it a monopoly and storm the forums! (Sorry, I guess that's the "white knight" in me coming out.) - here's my sig

" You don't even know what TFT and discord is. Thank you for your valuable contributions to the discussion. |

" LOL that was a rhetorical question. You know what those are, right? I (and you) already knew the answer, but the question being asked brings the obvious to the forefront... TFT is not controlled by GGG. GGG aren't gating content behind TFT. TFT is just a thing built by players, like countless other things that have come and gone in the POE ecosystem, and undoubtedly like more that will come and go in the future. I find it funny that you are calling me ignorant here. - here's my sig

Wtf are you talking about?
How goddamn messed up anyone can be to accept in any shape or form a state of game, where the only viable form of getting valuable crafts is through some discord channel? FOR CRAFTING PURPOSES, mind you. Not for trading items, not maps, but for crafting gear. Oh god, just thinking about it makes me so pissed off that at no point will I reconsider coming back before they at the very least FIX THIS ONE. Last edited by vmt80#6169 on Sep 10, 2021, 5:27:11 PM

" How messed up do YOU have to be to think there’s an aspect of the game that sparked a massive community wide effort create and is entirely maintained by said community, yet it’s a bad thing? The best games that have ever existed are the ones that are so popular and so engaging that they spawn a massive community-wide effort to tweak or improve upon the game. Player-driven solutions. They have earned the prestige and benefits from what they have created and continue to maintain. As a game developer (which I am not), there’s nothing more that you could possibly want than that. There’s a thread also near the top page about some guy asking GGG to help make some guides for builds in-game. But GGG’s stance is we give you the tools, you use them to the best of your ability. I for one don’t want the game to hold my hand through every aspect of it. Give the players even more control as far as I’m concerned. Imagine a PoE where the players could even craft their own skill gems within certain parameters. Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfSWYPXd9prVxf5v_DoqtIQ
