Just Curious, Why no set items in PoE?
I would like to see sets. making them for extremely niche builds, but marginal at best outside of a full set.
Also it would make sense from their business stance, since you pay for item slots. Set items would be collected en mass. IGN: Turkey_turds, Lootsplosion_LvNINTHOUS, Who_Needs_pants_

i like sets. its fun to find them even if you would never use them.

If i want to see some sets,it would be mid level ones.Highlevel ones CAN break the game if everyone is using them, something GGG dont wants. But what we are discussing?I dont thing they even think of adding sets at all:) (and thats for the best)
Bye bye desync!

I don't see a place for them in PoE to be honest. Uniques have replaced them.

Set items wouldn't HAVE to reduce item variety, not if the set bonuses were such that they didn't coorelate linearly with battle prowess. For example, a set of much weaker armor could give a set bonus 20% item quantity. I doubt everyone would instantly give up their Koam's for that, but some people would.
Set bonuses can increase variety making items that people normally avoid, suddenly more appealing. For example let's look at the Demigod's gear. People don't war that shite. But what if it gave an interesting set bonus?? All of a sudden it might not be useless anymore and peopel might actually wear it! What if crown of thorns gave a set bonus with bramble armor? ALl of a sudden the two worst uniques in the game are actually being worn by people. |

I hate set items. It forces you into wearing them because usually the set bonuses are either OP or required because you cant play your build unless you use them. Using D3 as an example. As a WD you must use 4 piece Zuni because of mana issues and the regen it provides. Playing a Tempest Rush monk I was forced to wear the 4 piece Inna's set. I dont like being forced to do something. Games are meant to be fun.
After thinking it over I do think a 2 piece set would be fine but only for rings. IGN: DabrixRN Last edited by Thomasmgp#1035 on Apr 6, 2013, 11:07:07 PM

I like the idea of having single piece uniques to make builds around, the way it's done now.
Sets goof things up because you need hundreds of different ones or else you're left with the D3 scenario of every player looking for the same thing. It makes for a very plain non diverse game IMO. The way the items are with new uniques entering the fray so often, things are going pretty well. |

Set items were a mistake Blizzard made and then copied by mindless game designers
