Finding and blocking price fixer listings on the trade site would make my life a lot better. Currently I indiscriminately block anyone who doesn't respond under the assumption of price fixing.
I've done that for Beast trading, but it felt kinda bad to go from over 900 results down to 50 :D

I'm sorry but, I completely disagree with everyone saying such a system wouldn't work. Since i'm pretty educated in web development myself and know the type of data web developers can have and track and what said web developers can do with said data.
If I had access to the data needed to confirm specific player trade transactions that would be one data that could be used in determining a trade score along with w.e other similar data pointers GGG has.
I have looked at their public api and they don't give access to the data needed to calculate a successful trade transaction. So, me coding this idea wouldn't be possible. But, i strongly believe the web developers they have could make something pretty good that wouldn't be easily gamed.
If GGG managed to implement my idea it would not only help filter price fixers it also gives trading an incentive because people will want to have a high trade tier but, also the tier would be dynamic so if said player is done with trading and wanted to grind the game the players that are moderately trading would be getting more of the spotlight because he's not gold anymore and vice versa. But, mainly the price fixers would be filterable, like imagine if there is an option to only show trade listings that are from bronze, silver and gold tier traders only.
And knowing that you will at least get a response saying their busy please wait until i'm done this or even better trade with you instantly. I know one thing for sure though is players would be selling more even if your on the low tier trading bracket bronze the way my idea would work is bronze players would still be worth messaging because they would more then likely response to your whisper instead of complexly ignoring you all together like price fixers do.
I'm also willing to work with GGG communication wise if they plan on using my feedback to implement such a system. Because this is my main issue with the game currently and the reason I stopped playing it because sitting on trade messaging 30 players just for one dam player to not be a price fixer is aids and huge huge huge time waster.
I know everyone here doesn't think a system could work but, I think you all understand my vision at least. Maybe, one day this could be implemented somehow.

The goldfarmer bots would pollute said data... HEAVILY... you can't trust it...
Then what?
You're assuming you have reliable, untainted data... but you do not!

No. Any metric you set will be gamed - within hours. Any change you make to your algo will be identified, and adapted to - again, within hours. Monstrous companies with billions to throw at this problem have not been able to solve it. The only solution they've found to be even modestly effective is active moderation by paid employees.

It would be gamed by the bot army. Easily. The end result will be bots and price-fixers still dominating the trade site's cheapest prices - only now they have A+ trade rankings. And you still introduce all the opportunities for abuse that systems like this bring.

The likes of Amazon, Google and Microsoft have not been able to successfully stop this sort of thing. You are taking on a literal army of programmers, who, collectively, have infinite resources. You think in terms of tactics, when this is a war of logistics.

You think they won't dominate every tier you set up? Everything the cartels do is automated. This is a fight that literally cannot be won - the only winning move is not to play.

Again... ANY possible metric you try to enforce will be gamed. You'll spend hundreds of hours coding, unit testing, rolling out and then bug fixing - and your legion of enemies will dissect your metrics and adjust their bots to accommodate. This will happen within hours. HOURS.
You have to worry about best practices, integration with existing systems, documentation and optimization. Your enemies not only don't have any of those concerns, they outnumber you hundreds to one. There are entire forums, with thousands of users, who contribute to these projects.
If you throw the gauntlet at the internet, the internet always wins. That holds true for organizations the size of even Apple - with over a trillion USD in liquidity. What chance does GGG have?

The only thing that will change, if they were foolish enough to hire you and implement this system, would be that the bots and price-fixers dominating the top fifteen slots - in every last strata you establish - will now have pristine rankings.

It would become a source of complaints from angry users, a resource drain as the devs try and fail to stay ahead of the cartels, it would accomplish the opposite of its intended function, and the only solution would be to hire an army of moderators to try - and mostly fail - to keep a lid on the disaster.
Do not play into your enemy's strengths, and don't look at logistical problems tactically.

You are not at all educated about web development are you?
How would they get access to the data and the metrics that determine your tier when the important code is server side and unreachable or viewable by the public.
The price fixers would have to do a bunch of in game testing and at the end of the day would have to do a bunch of unknown in-game things to be in a tier.
I think this would be a huge time waster for price fixers they won't want to do xxx and xx and satisfy x to be in x tier just to price fix it would be a solid deter-int. The only players that would be angry with this are the price fixers.
The system would at least reduce the price fixing population in the trade listings. to about %80. Yeah some might want to go through all the unknown bullshit to be place in a tier but highly doubt it.
Once again since your not informed on web development you have no idea what data GGG has. Their public api is only the data they want the public to have access too. I'm sure they have bunch more sensitive and crucial data that is private that is better suited for this sort of system i'm suggesting.
So you all can say this and say that and it won't work and it will be gamed but I believe the devs over at GGG could make a solid trade score system.

This is not web development... it is like 5+ tiers above web development in complexity...
