I Used my linux server in JHB to do some test.
The worse ping I got to azure was 8ms and to phyz network was spikes to over 100ms.
I also ran a test to the ip before Phys server : 196.223.14.168
I have attached the result below

Here is my results, I let WinMTR run for 1 hour to all the IP's.

Thanks, GGG. Playing with 50ms ping instead of 200ms ping is an incredible experience.
I haven't experienced significant lag spikes. Previously I've found Frankfurt to be a little better (180 to 200ms) than London or Milan (200 to 220ms).
Only 48 hours to the next league :)

Did the same test tonight, looks like the Psychz servers are more spikey than the Azure servers.
@Fitzy_GGG any chance you can increase the Azure capacity instead of using the Psychz servers for the Scourge launch? Seems way more stable - average latency is also like half.

I know it doesnt help much with troubleshooting but heres pics of the ingame latency graph showing stability.
London
Washington
Amsterdam
South Africa, Azure 102.37.124
All stable and with a flat line, no lag spikes.
And then this:
South Africa, Psychz 165.73.241.34
South Africa, Psychz 165.73.241.58
Latency all over the place with spikes over 200ms.
Think it says a lot when even the eu and america servers are more stable than the Psychz ones in the same country. |

So it seems the Psychz server is decent during the day, but as soon as its peak time the server starts spiking.
Azure the highest i get is 11ms. Psychz spikes to like 160ms when i try to play when i get home from work.

It always impresses me that a dev can see a reply like this, spin up a few servers with fallbacks to EU where needed. This kind of response is not something you see with other big titles.
A bunch of us are returning to play PoE only because of these SA servers. Glad to see they're sticking around for 3.16 launch.

The SA servers feel very bad for me. When they first launched my ping was consistently below 50ms, and it was wonderful! But now it regularly spikes to 150ms, which in lockstep means things teleport around and it feels like I'm running in syrup. So I find that I have to unfortunately have to disable lockstep.
It's important to point out that while the average is low, there is a very big variance and the game feels very rough.
I have a 100 Mbps up and down line with Cool Ideas in Cape Town. My line is generally excellent.
