It is evident by your claim that you are "part of the elite" that you are, in fact, just another self-entitled swine who wants games catered specifically to them and blindly hates Blizzard because it's cool to do so. Diablo 3 is in no way like WoW, and not a single person working on D3 worked on WoW outside of the sound team. You are very, very misinformed. Clearly you haven't even looked into what D3 is all about if you think it's trying to cater to WoW players. Try and wrap your brain around this: Blizzard wants people to still play WoW. They are catering to Diablo fans, not WoW fans. They don't want to take people away from WoW, they want to bring Diablo fans back to their games. But you enjoy your PoE. I will too. I was disappointed in some of the changes but I GOT OVER IT, because i am not a whiny brat. to say that REAL fans of the diablo would forsake diablo 3 is stupidity. if you were a real fan you would be chomping at the bit to play regardless of any of these "outrageous" changes to it. if you don't want d3 fine, but don't fool yourself into thinking you matter because of that. there are plenty REAL fans who will be playing tonight, too bad you're not one of them. " I've been keeping an eye on this thread and am prepared to lock it if the discussion gets out of hand. So far the posts have been relatively civil considering the purpose of these threads is to be uncivil. I tend to leave a thread like this open if possible because it serves as a good troll/fanboy outlet. The raging and arguing and name-calling mostly happens here instead of spilling into other threads where actual meaningful discussions are being held. It's also true that if I lock or move this thread another one just like it will be made in a couple of days. Hopefully in a couple of months once D3 is old news these threads will become less common (wishful thinking). I know some people tend to look at these threads and feel like the mods aren't doing their job. We've discussed in the past how we want to try to handle these threads and we definitely keep a close eye on how they develop to ensure they stay in bounds of the explicit forum rules. Forum Sheriff

" I was a huge fan of the Doom series because I loved Doom 1 and 2. When Doom 3 came out, I got it the first day it was in stores, but I got bored of it very fast. It just wasn't the same as the previous games in the series. Since then I've been a lot more stingy with which games I pay for - I probably only pay for games 2-3 times a year, and usually cheap ones. I'm very careful with trying to figure out what the specific game is, before I buy it. It's easy to define what a fan of a game is, but anyone who thinks they are a fan of a series is deluding themselves. Series change over time, and you can't expect gamers to just swallow what's being fed to them if they don't like it. Gamers are supposed to have fun. Your definition of a "real fan" is a religious fanatic who needs mental help, not a gamer. There's nothing justified about having blind devotion to a game series. |

I SEVERELY enjoyed the weekend, got to lvl 16-17 cant remember; so i may not have had a full experience of the game but from what i have played i fucking love it. Can hardly find any faults.
HOWEVER I do agree that the animation seems a bit stiff, not atrocious, but stiff. Perhaps more visual impact with skills (coupled with sound effects?) would help. All in all a bloody good romp - can't wait to get my key/ until open beta so i can fully enjoy this marvelous game. Well done GGG! \m/ \m/
