- Lot of new and old bugs (for example an old and very annoying bug: flame dash + predictive game mode = client doesn't really know where you are)
- Overtuned league monsters as usually - Off screen one-shots, and that ridiculous xp penalty still exists - Nerf as ususally instead of fixing overpowered classes (builds) - 2-3 weeks new content, very annoying and boring grind fest after that - Existing streamer rng, average players got a lot of worthless junks - etc, etc When your player base will be halved in the next month, you shouldn't wonder about about it, you deserve it. Did you forget Warcraft 3: Refunded? I have not. I loved Diablo 2, but there's no way I'm buying another Blizzard game after that mess and a number of other more-than-questionable things they've done/said. Forget Blizzard. I'm over them. They aren't the company they used to be.

How is it toxic to state factual things about a game?
Spamming those two bosses over and over or a few certain areas for density is exactly what the game devolves into after a few days of playing and Players have already ported assets from it. They started modding and Bliz went big lawyer even though people had already modded the original to look nearly as good for free. New Lightning, ugh, that's just 3dFX Glide turned to 300%. They shut down bnet support for D2 and War3 and D2 R doesn't support TCP/IP so good luck.  D2 Upscale Project. Seriously. People interested in playing D2 again should really just take a look at the modding community. There's already ways to play 4k at 60FPS. It's been done already. Bliz might get money from me when they actually make a new game instead of repackaging nostalgia. PoE is in a pretty disheveled state right now but that grass isn't greener over there so don't act like it is or play normal D2 right now, the game hasn't changed any. I played it only months ago and I played D1 around Archage US release. Nothing has changed. I've just done it all already. I try my best to help the game with explaining fundamental problems that can't just be band-aided and call out those kinda fixes when I see them but in the end I'll just play my 1-2 builds per league and wait for the next. I have my pre-order in. Kind of concerned due to Blizzard's political mess right now though if they will be able to keep everything smooth. Obviously not as important as fixing their crap first though.

I agree with Xzorn.
You'll be back to PoE in no time when you remember that D2 has no endgame. Sure you might farm Baal and Diablo for a bit, but sooner or later you're going to get bored and find yourself crawling back. Or if you have any sense of ethics following the whole Activision-Blizzard lawsuit stuff happening, you don't touch the game at all. If you want to quit PoE and find another ARPG to sink your teeth into, you should either play Grim Dawn or Last Epoch. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds. Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! " Blizzard has not shut down Battle.net support for Diablo II - both Closed Realm and Open Realm play is available. Nor will they. They will allow the people like me to continue playing and accessing our characters using the old client, which I intend to do into perpetuity. |
