Character was stripped because it was worthless.
Just go analyse the deaths of say zizaran who is a hundred times better player than you will ever be who also racks up multiple deaths per season in this pos.
defenses dont do anything in this game unless you are playing in some nutty mirror quality gear and avoiding rippy map\delve\certain bosses content - good luck with that.

personally I go for 4-5k hp 75% ele res and the rest is invested in max off screen/freeze everything and destroy corpses as well as try to delete bosses in under 30sec.

if you want to level past 95 you have to only do content that will not ever kill you meaning as trivial as boring as possible. I lost multiple hc characters because I was bored out of my mind doing mundane grinding. last hc character I lost because I was so bored waiting for boss to do his immune phase I was browsing internet and the thing must have crit me or something 1 shoting me. mobs in this game are not tuned. then there is effects diarrhea making one unable to see wtf is going on then there are on death effects and shit blowing up right under you. then there are is some lingering shit that ggg loves aka all monster have been long dead but something is still killing you. ggg approach to monster design is ... well I am not finding words that can be uttered in public.

death penalty should be disabled at some point after the campaign or maybe totally. knowing this company this will never happen. game has been out for around 10 years and it still manages to feel like beta every time I play it and personally I am not sure its better now when it was 10 years ago.

Stop playing bad builds that die so often? Or accept the fact that you'll plateau at ~91/2 if you keep playing like that.

There is no way to fix it, the GAME is the problem, uber nerds like you like to say "oh look you didn't have 75/75 block, 2 million armour, 100% evasion and dodge and a jet pack to fly over the mobs so its your fault" in reality the only way to avoid pointless deaths is to avoid all end game content.
With so many maps having narrow paths, bad color combination, random explosions and screen clutter, general mapping is like driving blindly in rush hour traffics hoping not many cars will hit you.

You can wear fire/cold/shock resistant armor inside your car but hit by a 3 tonne truck, you are still dead.

I usually just say fuck it to the last 4-5 passives, it rarely makes a difference and getting to ~95 isn't that bad.

I hope we get some more cool defensive tools in the near future though, and that seems quite likely seeing as it just makes sense as a next step after slashing our damage.
