Streamers started quitting in 3.14 ... But GGG was like hold my beer for 3.15

Isnt it weird how youre still replying to yourself and having a conversation with yourself and no one is interacting with you and your soo called "correct interpretation of numbers" ? The people who tried stopped. Clearly we are the issue though and not you.

Spoiler
Topper is youre still cherry picking the exact same stuff which makes it incredibly hilarious.

Do you all even pay attention to WoW?

Maybe that's exactly what they did? And decided not to dumb down and casualize their game like Blizzard did, actually staying true to their past?

I think a lot of people were from the Barbie dress-up coddle-fest of World of Warcraft and came to PoE via D3. They really had no business playing a game like this (Chris' vision à la 3.15) and should have run back to the "cows with boobs" lovefest of WoW.

Blizzard makes games (regardless of genre) for a certain type of player that needs ego-boosting wins and constant validation of their self-worth, so easy-mode works quite well for them.

Throw them into a game that expects you to handle challenges or deal with failure and they implode.
The WoW example always throws me off, cause theres always the handful of people who attribute World of Warcrafts downfall to "elitists" when that couldnt be the furthest thing from the truth. I cleared all content in V+TBC+WOTLK+Cata, hundreds of days played. Around the time WOTLK was when you could start noticing the downward spiral. Once Cata hit you could definitely see it. I played into MOP and tried to enjoy it but i just couldnt. Game became too dumbed down and casualized with bad changes geared towards people who didnt care about the game and only cared about the false sense of accomplishment by doing shit like LFR. Blackmarket Auctionhouse was my last straw. Why even play the game when you can buy everything on the BMAH with gold ? Thats when the game was 100% dead for me.

I gave it another shot in Warlords of Draener i think it was called ? Cause Blizzard gave me all the expansions past MOP to WOD for free, so i figured why not give it another chance for a month. Man did playing the game in the state it was in make me sad.

Vanilla + TBC was peak for me. I know ill never experience it again which is why i didnt even bother with their shitty "re-release" of either. It wasnt true 1:1 with the past which is exactly why people experiencing it now for the first time have no idea what theyre talking about when they refer to those expansions.

Cater to the wrong crowd and you end up with a bad game. Thats the true downfall of Blizzard, when they decided more money and catering was more important than their vision, innovation and core audience.

Ah look. Hes cherry picking everything an ignoring the actuality of the numbers and pretending that he is interpreting the numbers again. No surprise. Intentional misinterpretation of numbers in not only the steam chart values and trends but in the twitch statistics too.

Ignoring trends and cherry picking 1 data point for an argument to "prove" youre right heh. If you actually go through the data and actually interpret it correctly with the trends and average, 70% "drop in hours watched" isnt by any means something that hasnt happened before. Hints why i bracketed them.

In addition to this, you want to go on about more people streaming the game yet you can clearly see more people streaming the game doesnt equal more hours watched or more concurrent viewers.

Ignoring numbers across the board while claiming to be "right about statistics" is exactly what reddit math is but youre making observations purely on the bases that you want it to fit for your argument and not digesting it as a whole, which is again, why you are wrong

Spoiler
Also league started late, using only 1 week of July which is why the numbers look weird, because delays like that dont happen, which is also why the number of viewers and views and time watched is still going up.

So again, you being disingenuous and misinterpreting numbers.

You are both right in reading the stats. Difference is, Tin foil hat, manages to nuance and relate them in overview for a grand perspective, that bears more accurate merits.

Anyone can look at numbers in an isolated instance and back their claim, but the big picture matters,

Some of "them" that you are talking about didn't sail here with you and your boys, in an attempt at escaping WoW. Some of us were grinding D2 long before you were cutting your teeth casually playing a WoW expansion.

I see you popping up in every post, bestowing righteous wisdom on everyone, telling people how this game should be played. Seriously man, who are you? Were you here in beta? How many seasons have you played here? How many level 100 chars have you deleted after a season ends? How many thousands of hours did you pug grind the docks? Or did your WoW ship just crash land here, and you're already the arpg expert?

FYI pal, PoE has claimed to be the spiritual successor to D2. Do you know what D2 was? It was a decade long power creep faceroll. Those words scare you though, because they're borderline cuss words in the new gen moba world. Power creep has always existed in this genre, and it's mandatory.

No one wants to do what they were doing yesterday, but at half the speed. Whether I'm driving to work or shit stomping a monster, and wearing his face as a mask omw to kill his boss...I don't need to do it slower. Slowing the game down or killing build expression doesn't make this genre any more or less "difficult".

If I wanted to get my ass handed to me by some flash playz verbally abusive 10 year old, in the name of difficulty, then there are plenty of games that already check that box. That's not what this genre is though.
So? I quit in Ultimatum. And now I am back and have fun like I always do.

That's not at all what happened. Tin_Foil_Hat provided no nuance at all.

Personally, I'm loving the Expedition changes. I can see why hardcore players are miffed, but I stopped playing precisely because of the issues that GGG have addressed pretty firmly in this patch. If things go back to how they were before, I'll go play something else. I probably won't brigade and review bomb steam reviews and threaten devs and other players on social media.
MOAR PANTS, because every good game needs a pointless meme.
