OMG I think I just realized the biggest problem with the trade system!

So?

If youappreciate yr sanity - then play semi-ssf, like many already do. Me included. Problem solved. No trade? No trade issues.

Tho those who makin money out of poe now screams about market being so small. Not our problem. Ask GGG. Its arpg, not stocks simulator.

I have actually just started more hcssf and use trade league mostly for testing build ideas but yea the market is pretty jacked up.

Im just trying to make it easier for new players so they dont have to go through what I went through learning all of this. Dont even get me started on price fixing and trade baiting! LUL

Yep, all true, cheers man!
Well, the community already solved this. Awakened POE Trade

That is not the point really. The point is that when you copy-paste into the official GGG trade search bar you get ZERO results! That is something every noob probably tries at some point and it should work.

Also, it shouldnt be searching for:

1) 6 mods same level
2) 6 mods any level
3) 5 mods same level
4) 5 mods any level
etc. etc.

... it should be searching based upon the parameters of the item pasted into the search bar.

1) 6 mods same level
2) 6 mods +1/-1 level
3) 6 mods +2/-2 level
4) 6 mods +3/-3 level
5) 5 mods same level
6) 5 mods +1/-1 level
7) 5 mods +2/-2 level
8) 5 mods +3/-3 level

etc etc

It should be returning the most similar items accounting for weighted mod rolls when not finding exact matches

Over the years I've done hundreds of searches to price items. Anything over 3 mods is probably going to turn up close to zero results and be useless. Doing all 3 mod combinations through the whole database on a 6 mod item is going to be many dozens of searches. That would be a large burden on whatever server is doing the search. This is not so much a programming challenge as it would be doing an extremely expensive calculation with likely mediocre results.

There are also many examples where mods are useless. For example, resistances on weapons or conflicting mods (meaning if this mod is useful for a build then it is highly unlikely for this other mod to be useful).
Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!
until ggg implemented the ability to see advanced item mods, we and scripts were left in the dark about about what mods a item had in the first place cause ctrl+c would sum up hybrid modes with their counterparts and not show hybrids in the list of affixes.

and they had a hard time giving up this obfuscation for 6+ years.

why?

imho, because they don't wanted players easily identify an item's worth and assumed that if a item's affixes were known it would be easy for software to auto price items.

after a dissertation or project of students failed on such a project they probably thought its safe to show all affixes.

itemisation is THE key factor to success of a arpg cause everything depends on it

everything in poe is about items, their affixes and their price. if the real price of items worth would be known, it would bring down poe's appeal to that of tetris or even worse, diablo3.

poe's itemisaton is like a captcha which only humans can solve and where software fails, software can't know the real price of items cause it might be fake sellers trying to rip people off (baaaaad!) and the prefered combination of affixes is highly dependant on the current build meta.

the need to prevent automatisation has a higher priority than the need to make new players have a easy and comfortable introduction into the core issue of a arpg.
age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

Again, I think you are addressing the code necessary to make the search result come back with items that are considered "valuable".

I do not have technical expertise to debate the code.

I just cannot come up with ANY reason why when a Noob does a copy-paste search into the OFFICIAL trade website it will always bring back ZERO results! How hard is it to bring back a list of any or all rare 1H swords? Or rare 1H swords with one mod that matches? Or two? Or three? Anything but ZERO results!

It is unacceptable.
So you are saying it took GGG six years to allow us to hold Alt and see if a mod was a hybrid or pure roll? LUL

I just want them to bring back ANY results from a copy-paste search into their official trading website!

If Noob does a copy-paste of this sword :

///
Item Class: One Hand Swords
Rarity: Rare
Fate Needle
Elder Sword
--------
One Handed Sword
Physical Damage: 47-87 (augmented)
Elemental Damage: 24-47 (augmented)
Critical Strike Chance: 5.00%
Attacks per Second: 1.30
Weapon Range: 11
--------
Requirements:
Level: 47 (unmet)
Str: 81
Dex: 81 (unmet)
--------
Sockets: G-G
--------
Item Level: 47
--------
+330 to Accuracy Rating (implicit)
--------
Adds 11 to 21 Physical Damage
Adds 24 to 47 Fire Damage
+27% to Cold Resistance
+202 to Accuracy Rating
Attacks have 20% chance to cause Bleeding
29% increased Damage with Bleeding
///

... it brings back ZERO results!

At the very least it should bring back a list of all rare 1H swords! After that it seems there is a huge debate about the nuts and bolts of the code needed for returning "valuable" information.

Are GGG incapable of having the search bar capture :

Item Class: One Hand Swords
Rarity: Rare
Fate Needle
Elder Sword

... and do a basic search? THIS is all I am asking?
