but why not remove Harvest and add all or most mods from Harvest to Crafting Bench? much better and more suited. just need balance cost and how achieve there crafts and its perfect!

As long as crafting becomes fun and worthwhile again I'm fine with that. Now it takes way too much time/currency investment to pay off.

Every time I enter a sacred grove now I become extremely sad and never wanna enter one again.

(I also did a post like this on the RuneScape forums back before the game went to shit and no one listened to me. Guess I'll try again, maybe it will work now.)

You are not as important as you might think you are in terms of speaking about that game sir. Everyone is allowed to have an opinion. It doesn´t mean others have to follow it ;-)

When someone has played a game for so long and knows the community/game better than any of the devs (who probably don't play the game as dedicated as you or know the community) then I think it's very important to listen to those kind of players, don't you think?
The Jagex team didn't listen and the population from RuneScape went from 300-350k recurrent players to 50k. After a couple of years they did Old School Runescape (old version of the game) That's how hard they fucked up their game.

Now you've been stalking me on the forums and hate posting against me for a long time. Your hate for me is so big you aren't even agreeing with one of my points so you clearly don't want the game to become better.

I don't think anyone is really interested in my words and opinion, but after giving 3.15 a real chance, I have also stopped playing.

First of all, a few words about myself.

I just turned 49 a few days ago and have enjoyed playing video games for about 40 years. I used to spend horrendous amounts of time playing in my younger days. But for the past few years I have been one of the "random casual" gamers, even though my friends and family say I play way too much. I spend 15-20 hours a week playing games - and for the last three years POE is the only game I spend my time on.

I created my very first POE character several years ago and have tried the game on and off a few times. But even after I reached the endgame the first time, I didn't catch fire.

That changed in september 2018 (yes, I'm one of Blizzard's "April Fools" converts) when I really fell in love with POE.

I worked my way into the game, which took quite a while. And I've always played in my own way and style. That's why I prefer SSF - the grinding, the hunting for equipment and improving my character is what I really like about ARPG games. (And I guess the makers of this game named their company "Grinding Gear Games" because they like that too. If not, they might have called it Trading or Buying Gear Games instead) I set my own goals and was always aware that I would never reach the highest heights. I was happy with what I could achieve.... Playing stably on T15-T16 maps, killing a few end-game bosses (I don't usually do Ubers – and I don't like Sirus), one or two "Legion Fourways" - that sort of thing.

I was never the best player and never had the best gear - but I really enjoyed the game and had lots of fun.

And then 3.15 was introduced and everything changed from good to bad.

I played three characters this season. The first, a Marauder, was put on holiday at level 5 after encountering Hellrake on the island and the Necromancer in Fetid Pool - insane encounters for a character equipped only with a wooden stick and what looks like an old rotten door.

After that I played two more characters to level 90 and 91. My freezing pulse hierophant started struggeling in mid-yellow maps (even though he had six-link body armour) but I tried to move on a bit. I eventually stopped him due to two things.... He kept dying over and over again... And then there was Mephod in a T12 summit (just alched, no crazy mods). Clearing the map went okay, but he was possessed by a tormented spirit, had completely insane speed modifiers, and kicked my butt several times without me having a real chance to react to his actions.

Mapping and bossing were not comparable at all in this case. And that's one thing that worries me - the difficulty spikes (everywhere!) have been insane since 3.15 and often can not be avoided.

My TR trickster had a similar experience. He too was struggling even in early red-maps. I didn't want to give up and made an effort to improve him. I went to Azurite Mine to farm some fossils, but got never known problems at depth 130. Same in Heist - the character was killed way too often – or to be concrete: way more often than in previous patches.

At that moment I had the urgent feeling that I was just stuck somewhere in the middle of nowhere without a chance to move on.

But... I kept trying... I hadn't done any conquerors (they became too hard, too) for a while and finished the maps for Drox's Citadel, which was in a T16 shrine. I died twice to Piety.... Drox himself was not so crazy - but he placed his banners like crazy and I had a hard zime destroying them. I ran out of vials several times and eventually lost the encounter.

Long story short.

For me as a casual player, POE in its current form feels completely pointless. I've started to struggle in areas that I could manage quite easily in previous patches. Even Alva's Incursions (just one example) around T10 were sometimes not doable. With both characters, I hit the oft-mentioned brick-wall much sooner than I ever had before. I played for quite a while and could not see any improvement. Even when I got nice upgrades for my equipment, I got stuck again just one step later.

It doesn't really bother me that POE is a hard game. It has always been challenging for me as a casual player. But what really bothers me, and what has forced me to quit, is the fact that I simply can't achieve things that I used to achieve with relative ease. At the current state of the game, I would have to invest a lot more time to achieve the things I achieved before. (which means: to reach the earlier mentioned endgame-content)

And I simply don't have that time!

Why would a player still want to play the game under these circumstances?

I think the game needs a complete overhaul so that it is as enjoyable for every kind of player as it was before 3.15.

And - to be honest - if GGG doesn't care about all the casual players who enjoyed the game for many years (and in my case and many others spent a lot of money on MTX) and now feel forgotten, that would be ridiculous.

This brings me to a sentence or two about GGG's or Chris Wilson's "vision of the game". Where has that vision gone in recent years? Why haven't you pursued that vision all this time? It would have made all the crazy changes of 3.15 redundant. And possibly the disappointment among casual players who feel lost after enjoying the game for several years would have been much less.

But... I look forward to 3.16 and hope that the game will then be as anjoyable for me as it was in the last three years.
I'm back.... maybe we should start an "I'm back" thread.

Maybe, but I suspect it wouldnt get 60+ pages.

Much like your trip, that ship has sailed.

Exquisite work. You should make a tracker page of some sort so we can always see analysis like this.

Your data made it crystal clear this league is an objective failure.

As for Mr. 49, god I feel your pain. The only way around it is meta, other players. My build sucks, but it can keep up with any group and contribute a little something in terms of aura and meat shield.

As for actually playing the game? I'll just say it, impossible. This game never had softcore, just epeen and epeen lite. Softcore shouldn't punish you for death at all.

I've literally been playing diablo 2. No I won't be getting d2r because d2dx and plugy are good enough.

Playing d2 made me really miss old poe. I'll be coming back to poe soon I hope, but I completely agree, this league is a fail. I like the new systems, a built in currency exchanger, and a cooler crafting system. Tujen/Rog. Great. But the pylon planting mechanic is just awful. Why bother pulling the pylons from the garden only to bring them back for the dig?

I'm reminded of nets. Automate that crap. But who am I kidding. So much obvious stuff should be done and it's clear they've no intention of doing it.

The only thing keeping this game afloat is the artists they've hired, and the constellation of passionate third party page, service, and app supporters.

Old mechanics need to be rolled up and merged. Cherry pick. And for the love of god stop selling stash tabs. Let everyone keep what they got, give everyone with less than the following: One of each special, and 4 premiums. Something. All you've done is incentivized bloat and clutter.

I really am crazy. Why am I typing this?

Anyway, great data on the post I linked. (I had to assemble that link anchor with combined logic, clicking on a post's date should provide it but it doesn't.)

The league mechanic wasn't my jam. That and I've been trying to find a job, thought I had one starting Monday and it turns out I don't, so I bought a supporter pack for nothing. Might have to get it refunded, since I need the $ more than I need the cosmetics. This game is such an on-again off-again relationship for me. I don't think I'll ever completely quit, but my time having a gaming PC and playing this and another game almost exclusively are over.

Feels terrible, but at least I can log in and mess around with standard characters and gear every once in a while if I see a skill that looks really good. :)
