" I said this a long time ago.. Even have it toggle for it in opitions colour blind on or off.. If on Gem would still show color but would have letter inside socket and inside gem. would solve the CB issues. If there is a Hell! I'll see you there! Last edited by Necx#2253 on Dec 7, 2017, 7:52:04 PM

" This fix is very, VERY easy and would neither require additional coding nor redoing the shape of the sockets. Just redo their ART. For each socket have a slightly different color 'shape' within the socket border (just a band of color). For red; 25% at the bottom of the circle For green: 13% on the left and right For blue: 25% at the top of the circle White is already a stark monochrome so should not require alteration - and the lack of any alteration, itself, would help CB players with identifying it. Just make it a monochrome that stands out against the prevailing color which would still retain enough 'area' of the socket for those of us with color vision to see immediately. For gems: Red gems - use a vertical pointer ^ at the base of the 'square' that the gem occupies. Green - > & < either side Blue - Down arrow above. White - A slight white 'angle' lopped off of each corner of the 'square' for the gem. Again, in a solid contrasting color, and all it requires is a modification of the 'paint', not the coding for the item. Of course, implementing color-blind support into games like these is a PITA (I'm very familiar with the task, having had to modify color palletes natively within windows to help a completely color blind room mate play his favorite games). But this game *does* need some support for Red, in a big way, because mobs are identified with red and it becomes difficult for CB people to see against low contrast backgrounds (Chapter 7 I'm looking at you). Even I have problems with some areas in the burning whatever - and I have perfectly normal color vision. Patch Notes 3.15: Fixed a bug where players believed the game was playable. This has been corrected and made retroactive. Patch Notes 3.19: Fixed a bug where players adapted to 3.15. This bug cannot be corrected, so we have implemented a 90% reduction in item access as a punishment. Last edited by BlaqWolf#1151 on Dec 8, 2017, 12:11:00 AM

For some reason i sometimes have problems discerning green and blue sockets.
Would be super sweet if they had slightly different shapes. |

" Circle, square, diamond shaped gems ;P |

" Yes, that would work - but require considerable work on the part of GGG; new art for every gem and socket. Changing how the sockets themselves look using higher contrast segments would be a lot less time resource intensive and be just as effective. Patch Notes 3.15:

" Gems have the same appearance when socketed though, don't they? So why would Gem shapes need to be redone when the socket shapes are redesigned? Also the different shapes idea dates back to, you guessed it, Open Beta back in 2013. FWIW, ReShade, and similar tools, have daltonize filters that you can use on the game. I know it may not be the best fun, but it may be able to help while GGG sort it out internally.

" Yepp, easiest would be a RGBW letter overlay on sockets and gems... No reason to make it more complex then that :) |

Gah, realized I've been trying to get my friend to eventually try PoE, but I almost forgot he's severely r/g cb. Really hope something gets done about this so I can one day play with him.
