Color-blindness problem regarding gems

Circle, square, diamond-shaped sockets. Not so sure about the gems themselves I'm afraid.
How about W,R,G or B in the center of the socket.

Gem can have color specified in description.
Peggle had a colorblind mode and it was awesome, I'm sure PoE can do the same
They could easily redo the art for the gems, some of them are already inconsistent anyways, so they probably will be updated at some point.

When that happens, just make the sockets shapes, and make the gems match. It would be simple(the gem art isn't that large or complicated), and would go a long way towards the good will of the company.

I really hope some of the designers read this thread, I am not color blind, but this is a huge issue with most games. Companies that are serious about delivering AAA content in their games make sure to handle this type of thing.

Hello

I suffer from color blindness - can't make a difference between gems of color green and red and it is very hard for me to know which one is which...

I would suggest adding form to the sockets and gems - each color should have a form and a color. So that people that can't see the color at least see the form

Thanks!

You are red/green-colorblind and naming yourself redbull1981? I like that irony. I understand your problem and am seconding that suggestion.
Please add in shapes for sockets. The gems aren't to bad for me (Looking at stats are easy) but looking for items with the right sockets for the gems I want is pretty much a guessing game for me which blows. I literally have asked my friends so much they just tell me what to pick up now, which is a hassle for them.

As others have suggested that it is 'easy' to tell which colours are which because of stat types, I have this to offer.

I recently picked up a gem for a totem, without knowing which colour it is, it stumps me.

if it said Totem, its red.

except for Summon/Totem Elemental Resistance support. which is blue.

I believe the OP is referring more to the item sockets than the gems. There is currently no whatsoever texts / popup telling what color are each socket is other than the color itself. So imagine if the Green and Red color look the same to you, are you still able to tell which socket is green and red?
Pants are for nephalem, we are exiles, we do not need pants.

A shape that signals color would be a good long term solution. As a short time fix, an interface option to display the letters B/R/G on the top of gems and sockets would work. It is not pretty but functional, and won't annoy people if something one must turn on in option.

They had sockets that catered to colour blind people, then later removed them. The only people that know why, is GGG themselves.
