I mean, keep in mind that the last two leagues were prolly a reaction to people complaining that their "mapping experience" or what you want to call it got disrupted by stuff like harvest and heist... ritual even got announced and promoted as "in-map-mechanic" exactly because of that iirc.

" This is definitely a damned if they do and damned it they don't scenario. There is absolutely people like the OP who prefer something to mix it up some outside of the recent leagues. But I think the broad majority of people just like to keep it simple. Click thing, spawn monsters, kill monsters, then pick loot. It's relatively unoriginal, lacking creativity and requires limited thought. But it's a winning formula for mass appeal. I like both, though I didn't like the limitations of Synthesis tetris. Hell, I personally loathed timered mechanics, then Delirium came along and that was by far my favorite league to date. I suppose I've changed to loathing timered mechanics that have hard failure. An example being Incursions, either you finish them in the timer or you fail which can mess up your whole temple and you just have to live with it until reset. Thanks for all the fish!

I think alternating is the best approach, it also tends to be that the out of map leagues are more development heavy by the looks of it so they get a little extra time by flip-flopping.
I don't really like either when they do them back to back unless its a great mechanic. |

What I would really like: A lore/exploration league where we get to e.g. sail the Karui Archipelago and learn more about their history, culture and beliefs while fighting everything and anything from sea dragons to volcano gods. Storylines could be dealing with another god that we have to find first by piecing together lore and completing rituals that require certain items to perform, a Karui scholar (Siosa maybe?) asking us to find and bring home ancient artifacts, or helping a Karui Chief who wants to unite his people, or...
Exit, pursued by a Plummeting Ursa.

Any of you guys ever played
ANARCHY ONLINE? Terminal Missions/Quests with fixed rewards to chose before start? Anyone remember this ? If i needed a specific Item, i could roll Missions at the Terminal until i found a Mission for it. Then jump into my Vehicle and fly/drive to the mission area. how addictive that was.... The smaller version of this kind of quests for POE could be just the TERMINAL changed into an ALTAR like thing... Another Start/Stop freeze League will just be the end of this game... I think revisiting pale council could be fun, since it is still unclear what they were up to, or maybe it could be about leftover important people who were raised dead by Vulkur and they would be now freed from their control and doing their own stuff. Lore:
