Remove the goddamn XP Penalty! (in standard)

I wanted to wait with this post until I hit 100 just to avoid the common bashing that usually happens in these threads. I wanted to make an elaborate post about how I understand the purpose of the penalty in the context of a league and how none of that purpose carries over to standard.

But who cares; I'm just done with the game for good.

Today was the day, I was about to finally hit it. 98%, 3 hideouts almost ready to go, just one more Jun map and the hideouts should do it.

And then I died. Not because I made a mistake. Not because my character all of a sudden wasn't good enough anymore. No, I died because my harbinger pack spawned early in the map and during the encounter the Intervention spawn happened. At this point the engine was like "Nope, I'm out" and my game went down to <5 FPS. I couldn't move, I couldn't use skills, I couldn't do anything. But at least I got to watch my soul crushing death in cinematic, Zack Snyder style slow motion.

And now I'm staring at my 90% xp bar, out of Valdo maps (cause apparently map drops are dogshit in standard), out of Jun missions, out of motivation to keep going for another 6-10 hours. Without hideouts it's probably closer to 10 hours...

The really sad part is: I actually love the game. Despite the current league of nerfs, despite some of the flaws and quirky design decisions - I REALLY enjoy the game! A lot. When I hit 99 and got a glimpse of how the endgame will look like, I was super excited. The endgame bosses are fun, juiced up maps are ridiculous and there's still so much stuff to farm for my character. I was ready to play this game forever. I was ready to buy a million stash tabs because I'm lazy and unorganised. But I also wanted to hit 100. My OCD forced me to do it. And since I'm a grinder, no big deal. I can do some mundane task for ~50 hours. But this experience right now... I don't think I ever felt this miserable because of a videogame. Time to just stop and do something that is either fun or productive.

Yet, even in the face of such situation, there are still going to be people who will claim that the penalty is absolutely needed and you just need to get good and learn to play the game better.
Well, you can still dig up some t15/16 beachheads and finish it safely, no? Cause ya know, nobody will change the penalty regardless of the number of threads like this one.

You made a mistake running a Jun mission map while trying to level. It is really only your fault for not playing safe.

So basically when you want to level up - one of the fundamental mechanics of any RPG - you need to avoid almost all the games' content and stick to safe and repetitive stuff. Truly a great game design. How enjoyable.

So basically you have at least to assess your ability to survive a few nasty hits, mmkay. While you do have some armor/life, can't say 64/70/74 resistances with -3% chaos on top of it sounds impressive in any way - throw in some -res map mod or an appropriate curse, or both, or alternatively some elemental/chaos damage mods, your 8k life will go poof quite fast.

If you're reffering to my build then I don't know where you got those numbers from, 'cause my resists are 78/77/77 (overcapped) and chaos is over +20 with endurance charges. [Removed by Support]
And besides, what is my build got to do with the discussed issue? Nothing. [Removed by Support]

Roll maps you can run, if there are no server issues dying is your fault.

If I were you I would prepare a lot of maps, roll them without dmg mods and mods that reduces your defences and you should be fine bar braindead gameplay.

This league I even transmuted and regaled maps, but I got my level 100 again.
Died at 7% becuse I was an idiot and ran reduced block chance map. NEVER again also didn't die because I took the time to roll maps. Safety first if you want level 100.

LOL!!

Your addiction isnt over yet.... at least you feel a bit better after writing this..

I feel with you....

And i think to reach Level 100 by wasting so much lifetime for grinding the same maps again and again,is not worth a penny....nobody cares...

Repair something in your house or help someone with anything instead of killing your back, neck, hand, finger and hardware.......

Okay, maybe i haven't edited pob config to include charges, hehe. Nevertheless, 10/17/21 over the cap tend to drop below it with nasty map mods, and 21 chaos res isn't that great to pretend you can tank everything, mmkay.

And well, if you mentioned it, no need to be a detective to guess that "the discussed issue" won't change, so the best course of action (if you still want these couple last levels and that negligible bonus they give of course) is to swallow your pride and play "safe" content - certain unique maps, pure stones and so on. Or, alternatively, you can continue to die occasionally and cry about it of course, but it won't change anything. Or, alternatively, you can try to use that officially allowed cheat code called logout macro, maybe it'll help.

Level 100 is a luxury after all, not a nesessity. If you think you are entitled to it, it's not like that at all.
