3.14 Retention Rates

What about the bad technical launch OP?

What about streamer priority queue?

What about the fact that this league didn't come alongside a Maven level Atlas content expansion?

What about build nerfs?

What about lockdowns ending?

It's entirely possible that retention had NOTHING to do with the three things you listed and everything to do with just one of those that I listed. Or some of them in some combination. Or some of all 8 in some combination.

Yep. The lowest this league can go on its own merit or lack there of is zero. Neutral. You can completely ignore it and get along fine.

So most of the negativity has to come from somewhere else. Harvest nerf and launch/streamer-preference are my candidates for negatives.

It's called classic wow. Get with the times. Before classic TBC released, everyone's baby harvest league was the single worst league in steam history.
i dont think harvest was broken. dont have problem with people endless splitting bases and fracturing maps.

ritual was almost perfect. i like the labyrinth, jun and alva change, everything else is two steps back in the wrong direction.

Power Creep-driven games need a few steps back from time to time. Next league will introduce more power in some way, the league after that too. They shaved some power creep this league, which is/was needed for them to introduce more power in the future.

This isn't how the game works, the league mechanic isn't added in isolation you can't just ignore ultimatum and be like wow this is great I guess its a net zero.

Ultimatum might be the name of the league mechanic but its an encompassing title for all the changes that go with it, 3.14 can't just be "ignored" so no the lowest it can go is below zero. The performance issues alone put this at below zero for me and that had nothing to do with Ultimatum as a mechanic.

The only thing I really take from this graph is it has the steepest line, people can draw whatever conclusions they want from that but its a fact that its reduced player count by more than usual over time. This is made even more apparent if you plot this in actual player terms instead of a percentage as Ultimatum attracted the most initial players, but lost them faster than in any other league.
