Damage from monsters is too high

Knowing that a game will keep me entertained for a long time is one of the biggest reasons to buy it in the first place. Like what would you buy? A game you'll have played through in an hour or one that provides enough content for 100 hours?

POE is literally the only non competitive game i know that has enough content to keep me playing for as long as it did. I don't get why people here are so obsessed about reaching all the goals there are asap. The fun is or should be in the journey of getting there. What's the point of sticking with a game once you've accomplished anything there is?

The damage comes from the maps/delve/heist mods.

Try some t16 ultimatum with any of this mods:

Phys as extra (any element) + sextant (any element)

Sure you're going to tell me "but you idiot you don't stack damage taken and extra phys on top" yeah sure.. but oh? arent we all playing "softcore" according to some people here?

When did the normal mode of the game switched to almost hardcore that you have to be constantly pay atention to what map mods you're doing and what sextants are doing in order to play the current league content?

Another proof of selective memory from the poe community, they buffed the monsters several times over the past leagues and did nothing but constant nerfs to players.

If this league isnt opening your eyes regarding how map mods needs balancing at awakening 9 / 158 then I have nothing else to discuss here.

What's keeping you from running maps like that unless you are trying to level up? I frequently run suicidal map mods on builds that i consider finsihed and where i don't care about XP anymore. Sometimes i make it through anyway, othertimes i die a few times. That's what makes SC so much more interesting than HC, you CAN decide to take the risk if you feel like it without losing everything.

Ah the fallacy of "option" just to defend shit/overtunned design.

The "risk" is "okay" I give you that. Now do you actually want me to get into the part that matters? like any other ARPG out there? the loot? or you will use the "RNG" as another excuse?

That's what makes the game interesting to you. I'm sure you're enjoying it please if you're rolling maps with minus max resistances and extra phys damage and actually complete the ultimatum on t16 by all means keep doing so.

Macrocore is something that mostly streamers and actually try hards should do, the mechanics/bugs/issues in this game arent actually something to make a game mode with the ultimate punishment as reward for dying.

Softcore as people name it here is something that is often mocked at and frown upon because it's "okay" to lose hours of experience for any reason.
Then again I realize you play only standard I can sit from my top mirror items too and shit on the entire game 50 times over.
Don't be a poe stan. Use your fucking brain.
Please go and find a top tier mirror item on my account before making stupid comments like that.

As for the rest, to me this seems to break down to another one of those "the game doesn't reward me enough for my time" type of arguments. If that's how you feel i can't really argue with that. I can't say i feel like my time is wasted by playing because i enjoy doing it. I have lot's of fun killing Uber Elder or Sirus even if the only drop i end up with is a shaper's mark or Crown of the inward eye that go straight to the vendor. If you feel like you need big rewards for everything you do in this game for it to be worth it then i can totaly understand why you dislike POE, because it's not doing that. That said, i think this mentality is flawed to begin with but i won't try to talk you out of it.

I agree with OP.

All the arguments against boils down to one thing. People with years of experience and knowledge and too much time on their hands. All these 6k life and 2k ES builds that is thrown around as examples, is not achievable by any relative new player and only by long time average player, like myself, that can't play 16 hours a day, but over 5 years and 3k hours have built up enough knowledge to make it.

Why should a new player experience all end-game has to offer?

That would leave no room to improve and get better at the game. Makes no sense.

New players either quit or become veteran players themselves. There's no game design reason to cater to new players. Only money driven ones which leads to an eventual unsustainable community.

It's a revolving door of players into veterans who quit because the game lacks challenge.

The better you get at the game the less time it takes to do anything.

The game has so much content that not realistic for players to cover all tangent goals.
That's a good thing.
Take your pick of end-game content, do it and save the other stuff for next league.

People know this game isn't newbie friendly and personally I feel better players should be better rewarded hence my point of room to improve. Last thing this game needs is such a low bar there's no difference between a 4 month player and an 8 year player like Warframe or something.
