Here's a fun fact: the very concept of money itself is based on the foundation that it is scarce. That is why money has value.
So if ultimatums shit out chaos orbs for everyone, those currencies lose value. |

" Money is medium for exchanging goods and services. That is why it has value. Its the goods and services that are scarce. So if ultimatums shits out chaos orbs for everyone then everyone has chaos orbs to play with. I'll burn through an hundred to reforge a rare if I had thousands. They mean nothing. I'll slam exalts by the thousands if I had them. They mean nothing. Its a contrived virtual economy. Its fake. The problem is that with so few given out, one can do nothing with them but use them as a currency. For with so few, they can't possible be useful for their intrinsic values as they are defined. This begs another question, if they can't be used for their intrinsic properties, where then do all these wondrous items they purchase come from? And by the way, where do all the exalts go? Is scrooge mcduck sitting on a mountain of them in his vault, or his some mad gambler slammin god-tier items and trickling them down to us peasants? Who can say. All I can say is I liked ritual's reward system better. It was more fun for me to choose what I thought had value. Ultimatum defines it for you and that's just not my bag. |

Rituals were much more rewarding. There was almost always something you could use in even the most mundane tables, and then you still had the option roll for another table. Also, the deferment system was genius. I'm at the point with ultimatums that I don't do circles or survive modes anymore because the time and rewards have very rarely been worth risking the xp loss.

Because it is not ritual. Ritual was great in this regard, the only thing ultimatum has that is better is the chaos stacks. You get 4-5 instead of 2

It is less rewarding than ritual was I'm pretty sure. lvl93(soon 94) got 0 natural exalt or exalt through ultimatum yet and I finish most of my ultimatums in high red maps. My most meaningfull loots were shaper/elder maps and fragments, got 1 10c stack wich isn't much at all considering the actual economy.
The xp is impressive tho Last edited by galuf#4435 on Apr 30, 2021, 4:09:28 AM

For me - Ritual and Ultimatum was the same as comes to rewards - except few 2ex shots (6l, jewels), an ex or two - all was shat.
But as it comes to Ritual league - it was much more filled by activities that can generate currency - most all of them were nerfed in Ultimatum - so that's in my opinion the reason that ppl feel that Ultimatum is unrewarding. They nerf Harvest, Harbingers, Legions, etc. and they give nothing in replace. |

" Im only lvl 93 and ultimatums gave me 3 exalts, a 5 link shavs, a stack of 10 ancient orb and a 460 pdsp one hand sword. To me it has been way more rewarding than Ritual. And doing an ultimatum takes 1 min, while doing 4 rituals in a map takes much longer and the mob density is terrible. From my experience, ultimatum >>>> ritual by a large margin. I finish 100% of my ultimatums though. Last edited by Krayken#1299 on Apr 30, 2021, 8:10:01 AM

So far I've never gotten more than 5c. Ritual gave me exalts regularly. Maybe it'd feel way less bad if we were allowed to choose our rewards like in ritual.

I didn't play the Ritual league. I've only seen one or two Ritual encounters, and from what I've seen, they're awesome.
Not that it's not similar to Breach of course, but most things are. The point is, it's fun, it's exciting, it's rewarding, and I get to pick what I think looks useful. Ultimatum? There's old "cranky pants" mocking me or belittling me. While offering me ... some random rare piece of junk that's useless for the character I'm playing or for the alt I'm thinking of working on. So, great, you're going to bait me with some useless crap, mock me, and ... there's a good chance if I try it, I'll die, losing exp. I'm an SSF player, I'm undergeared by most standards. Ultimatum is (for the most part) an insulting, useless, waste of time, and more often than not I get penalized for even making the attempt. Not a fan. 'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand.' He faltered and leaned heavily on his staff. 'What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.'
