Maybe PoEDB has the numbers wrong. Maybe the nova hits for more than the 2.2k it has listed for ilvl 82. All I know is it one shot me and it made an audible crit sound.


Dude....i already said GGG will keep this perfect storm of RNG that even you have 90% block , you still have 10% not block and that damage can be crit and big hit and also you did not dodged or evaded it

5500 hp can be much tankier then someone with 8k hp. just depends on your actual defenses


"Defence" (keyword) in-game means ES, evasion and armor. Stacking them may somewhat help, but the true defensive layers would be block, dodge, over 75 capped res, or damage reduction source like Flesh and Stone sand stance, Fortify (pasive skill used to have % phys damage reduction, but axed by GGG) There is some niche build that reduce taken from crit. That math is in there. Besides if it's actually 1.5 not 1.3 it's still not 5.5k.
If I am understanding it correctly, it'd be a modifier from the monster being classified as a unique (according to the wiki it's actually a 1.7x modifier with a 33% less multiplier in a separate mod so maybe not the 150% figure I was looking at) on top of the 1.3x crit multi modifier.

POEDB is not reliable on raw damage number from monster. The monster damage actually scale with area level and way many other monster and area mod .
Huh.. If POEDB doesn't account for that, then that would be another 13% damage wouldn't it?
POEDB is just a place that the site owner posting raw datamine data without really checking it or explain it.

Some clearly wrong stuff still exist in POEDB site, such as most of the fossil-only mod are not spawnable due to 3.10 nerf, but the site still showing it
