Petrified Blood = no more random one-shots?

I might be wrong, but it seems like it's more an offensive skill than a defensive skill. There are so many things that will pretty much instant kill you at 2-3k life: shaper beam, elder suck, sirus pools/storm, touching the maven expanding circle for one ms, any of the maven "dots" in invitation fights.
If the skill scale to numbers higher than 50% damage taken as DoT, then it might be a strong defensive tool for pathfinder(which can keep it's life full with flasks at 100% uptime), otherwise it will probably make you even more prone to one-shots. I might be wrong thou, we shall see in practice how it works. And hope GGG doesn't start introducing monsters with culling in the game lol. |

" nice. if that in an example of an extremely tanky build, then one of my planned builds looks mega-hyper-ultra-extreme-supreme-9000 tanky https://pastebin.com/vhajQJgr not the highest DPS but whatever. if i play trade league i'll be doing this build, but i probably won't be playing trade league |

" Actually it's A LOT weaker than what you display because you have Molten shell, Elemental Aegis enabled. You also don't have the health pool to cover one shots, you don't have any tools to restore life in all situations and it seems like no strong AOE to clear the screen fast. Not a bad build though, just not tanky. ![]() https://pastebin.com/ckW9H61p The build I posted has 5K leech per second with 7.7K life. life pool is not what stops one shots, its effective life pool - you need to consider mitigation as well.
even with out molten shell and elemental aegis active, my build has almost exactly the same "maximum hit taken" numbers in PoB as yours of course, they will be active majority of the time...but anyway leech also does nothing vs one shots either. and, im a pathfinder. my flasks will always be able to be active. i don't have my hp flask on the pob, but whatever your preferred life flask would be just insane regen/sustain for the build given the minor amount of damage it would take per hit, and its avoidance. i don't know what your build is or anything, but im assuming you're not a pathfinder and you probably have flask activated for your build....no? i don't know. but whatever you saying this build "just not tanky" is kind of hilarious. given that WITHOUT those things active (which again most of the time would be active) its just as tanky as your "extremely tanky" build thanks for your input, lol Last edited by xMustard#3403 on Apr 10, 2021, 12:20:49 PM

" You can put VMS and Elemental Aegis on almost every character and see their EHP literally double - that won't make these characters twice as tanky though. Might as well put it on mine then. Life recovery helps you survive multiple hits in a row, didn't equate it to one-shots. If you think that a life flask and 500 leech/regen beats 5300 leech then so be it. " well no you can't put those two things on any character and be twice as tanky, but if you can use them then yes, absolutely do it yes life recovery does help you survive multiple hits in a row. i never said that it beats your 5300 life leech but you did in fact say "you don't have any tools to restore life in all situations" which is incorrect. i have regen and a life flask. just to put it into perspective let me tell you what kinds of life flask i can have as pathfinder. my usual preferred flask is Catalysed Eternal which gives me 6518 hp over 2.67 seconds. could also use a Bubbling Divine to get 1567 instantly and 1880 over 2.98 seconds. or final option is Seething Divine to get 2131 instantly. again, its a pathfinder, so yes you essentially have infinite uses of this flask especially with the pantheon also, your life leech does not help you if you're not attacking something. |

" There will never be such a thing as 'ultimate defensive layer' as that is strictly opposed to their design philosophy. To whatever extent they don't test something enough and it releases OP, they will nerf it. As someone has already mentioned to you this will be DR against hits, which means it already doesn't mitigate some incoming damage, which means it won't be 'ultimate' anything. |

You need to build around it in order to make it work
Also skill mana cost has changed to use part of the life also make it less tanky (or keep pressing life flask) Most build does not have life flask setup, force you to sub one attack/defensive flask for life flask also change the flow of a build This is the start of forum signature: I am not a GGG employee. The game is simply bugged when it comes to crit and crit multi. There's no way it isn't.
Case in point is my latest rip. Glad lacerate in a T14 map ritual spawn with charges type. Status immune. 70% block attacks/spells. Fated Blood in my prophecy tab. Coagulated blood spawns, gets a couple power charges and insta gibs me with nova. 5500 HP to 0 in one hit. Crit of course (sound processed). I know it was nova because projectiles would have failed to hit me with such high block. It was also instant. So I look at the damage of this mob on PoEDB. Nova deals 1603 to 2504 Physical Damage. Ok, so what is the base crit multi for these mobs? 1.3. Assuming the high end of the nova 2504 * 1.3 is 3255. I was at full life. That crit shouldn't have killed me. I also had very good life recovery this is how I knew it was a one shot. I was fine and then I wasn't. Basically either run crit immune or something ranged from a very long distance away. Or don't play hardcore. They won't acknowledge the bug but it exists I assure you. |

" It is not bug, the dev just never want to deal with crti big hit that one shot very very tanky character. They just want to keep it as RNG of crit + big hit + player not dodge / evade / block , the perfect storm of RNG This is the start of forum signature: I am not a GGG employee.
