And so GGG stands their ground with the will of the players still intact.

What do you not understand? If you don't like the mechanic you can ignore it and still purchase the items. If it is account bound you can't. You must craft.

Actually let me tell you exactly what will happen if account bound is implemented.

First, everyone will be searching for harvest because every other league mechanic is far weaker. The zones which spawn harvest will be farmed constantly. If the harvest zone passives were removed - you'll be running straight forward maps and the lengthier mechanics, like blight, will simply be ignored because they waste time you'd rather spend looking for harvest.

Then all other rare items will start losing value. Remember, no harvest crafted item will be tradable and they are the strongest. So what would be the point of spending dozens of exalts on a rare item? None. Not to mention the other crafting methods, like poor poor betrayal, will be mostly ignored.

What you'll end up? A game where all you do is look for that grove while the other league mechanics are a distraction. Meanwhile rare item drops will be profoundly useless. After all, all you need is bases. All of this for the sake of easier access to godly gear.

^Yeah, which is why I'm not in favor of the account bound, either full or partial, solution either. I'd rather the crafting be limited instead, so Harvest is mainly used only to fix up nearly great items. That way you're still encouraged to use all the other crafting methods, or even value that lucky item drop, to get good candidates for improving with Harvest. You can't use the garden to spam reroll affixes to get them all tier 1, or any other such abuse. It becomes the second last part of the crafting process.

Just before vaaling it for science. :p

GGG has zero interest in nerving known "0,1% strategies" , where in the first days of the league mirrors get printed. Actually everyone who is not abusing those strategies adds to their value , since there are less people which saturate the market.

Watch some videos on what to do during a leaguestart , and if you do it properly you can make several mirrors in the first 3 days of the league.

Ofc its easier when you have a party but there are also a lot of viable strats which one can pull off solo. Guess what all of those strategies require? Thats right a market where you can sell shit to. There is no known "run a map get raw exalt drop strat" except 100% deli farming ( and even that is not consistent ) , and honestly there shouldnt be.

You got the "I am weird"-part, yes? I know all of this. My cat knows all of this. I know GGG will never touch it. My point still remains, though; I think the game would be in a better place if services could not be traded.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
having an opinion is harassment against those who don't share your opinion. so everybody hurry up and stop talking. about anything. ever again.

Never got that weird part, Phrazz. Perhaps a bit of a rare part. In the sense that you can relativate things.

On topic (and responding to other parts of the thread btw), I don't think account boundness is going to fix Harvest, because I don't think it's fixed unless there is a consensus among the majority of players and streamers that it is properly balanced. Which requires some sort of a reference of balance.

Hope 3.14 will be a good, stable and fun league that is not dominated by Harvest power. Maybe the tension will fade a little.

Did you try turning it off and on again?
Its pretty clear what balance is in this case - to not be the most important mechanic in the game far above everything else.

This.
We're all in this leaky boat together, people.

Yeah, but that will never happen, because pretty much by design of PoE, it can't. What is balanced for a casual player is pretty much guaranteed not to be balanced for a streamer that spends 8+ hours a day on the game and is being more efficient while doing so. The other way round, this holds true, too.

The fact that this game rewards exponentially, meaning that more time spent is exponentially more rewarding, doesn't help either. So yeah, I doubt that there ever will be a consensus.

One thing that would help is to make a casual league, but I doubt it will happen, even though Standard league would be perfectly predestined to be such a league. Unfortunately, the introduction and subsequent removal of Harvest crafting has pretty much destroyed gear progression in Standard, too, because some of us are now sitting on a pile of really nice gear that they will never have a chance of improving, ever again.
Remove Horticrafting station storage limit.
SSF harvest is just awful. it amounts to all Hamlet all the time and 15 min in grove so you dont waste any. Just terrible gameplay/fun but its miles above all game systems you're forced into it. And SSF experience is what account bound would do to everyone. Terrible idea. I just hope they nerfed it enough so I'm not forced to run atoll every weekend

The reforges are super powerful still on these influenced rares. But will get expenive quick because you gotta lock prefix's and/or suffix's sometimes many times to hit jackpots. So I may be in luck. Just don't have the exalts to play around in harvest much.

GGG will never add soul bound items in any way shape or form, it's against their design philosophies, items should be tradable even if you don't want to trade them, that gives them value.
