Sorry but as good as D2 was - just some graphical finetuning does not do it for me when we get every 3 Months TONS of new content, a permanently changing and evolving meta, new gems and what not in PoE while Blizzard slept harder than Smaug for 20 years xD

I will not even be playing D4. PoE won me over with dedication and hard work. Nothing that Blizzard has shown in the last years caught my attention longer than 2 minutes.

While I agree that D2R will not kill off PoE, it will certainly grab quite a bit of player time away. For a while at least.

Did you ever play D2? Because the end game wasn't Baal runs, it was Andariel key hunting to get to Über Tristram. That's not so very different from fragment hunting in PoE. Of course, PoE has quite a few such end game encounters, so it definitely beats D2 on that front.

As to the "just a paint job". Wow, empty tap stay closed! They have to remake every single 3D model and their animations. Plus all the other gfx effects, video sequences, battle.net changes. That is a huge chunk of work.

Personally, I'm most excited to see the small QoL fixes they plan: Shared stash, gold autoloot, that kind of thing. It will be a lot of fun to play for a while.
