My first POE account ever, was banned after only 3 days of playing, why?

In the short time that I managed to play before ban, there was the same (pretty big) message spammed in game chat at regular time intervals. An advertisement offer to buy some stuff (idk what exactly, as I am a noob here). This message was really annoying, because it constantly took a noticeable portion of my screen with its size, and had a lot of capslock. And I bet that guy is still playing fine without any objections from "Investigators" here. |

You know, I actually happen to participate in maintaining an Arpg project myself. Not some browser game, but a full-scale pc videogame title, which you probably know well. So I am aware of the scale of the cheating problems such projects are facing. Yet we never ban our players without both manual investigation and contacting the player before ban, to further confirm our information. I never thought any team could consider automatic machine banning, then investigating appeals for 4+ weeks an "okay" approach. They are quite good at getting accounts mistakenly banned unbanned. Yes it could happen from time to time (no one is perfect and no system is either). Also reading the ToS could help shed light also on a possible reason why you might have been banned (not saying this is the issue) . I don't want to make accusations (the team will be able to determine if it was a justified ban or accidental.
For future reference make sure you change your account regularly , Also make sure no one in your house knows your login information to make sure that a possible sibling didn't log your account and break the ToS. Don't know weather you have siblings or not but always remember your account is your responsibility and if someone has access to your account and break a rule the account will remain banned (very important you secure you account and that its only you for ANY reason accessing the account as you are accountable for all actions on the account and any breach of tos at any time. good luck with your appeal , i'm sure it will be sorted out shortly. GGG is normally VERY quick with responding (in my experience) |

" While I agree, I'm not so sure about the speed. I'm currently waiting verdict for my ban appeal ( day 32 ). I acknowledge that it's still pretty early in to the league and they have relatively small team and ton of accounts/appeals to check but over a month is pretty long in my opinion |

I only ever logged in to my banned account from one pc, and no one else has physical or remote access to this pc, and the password to my account was never stored anywhere, neither on paper, nor on any device. Only I know this password.
Not to mention I only played poe 3 days before ban, so my account hardly could be of interest to some scammers, nothing valuable there. About breaking ToS, no debugging software was ever ran simultaneously with poe client, not to mention hooked into poe client. I also never traded anything (3 days into the game) Guess is, they just spooked by a dynamic ip. " I have a dynamic IP and have gotten my account locked before because of it. For new accounts/old accounts that people havent played on there have been bans for security reasons ( sounds dumb I know ). All we can do is wait |

My friend got banned aswell for no #@#$$ reason... what a shame GGG. Guess this is normal here, ban ppl for playing.
