Last Epoch (from my understanding) removes the one thing that makes PoE different. Combat based on your action. It uses the old fashioned simulated attack with a hidden die roll. PoE doesn't. You might not realize the difference at first, especially if you play PoE the same way you would if the combat was resolved with a die roll. Combat in PoE is far more complex than most of the players even realize. It's dynamic. It depends on your actions. It's not simply "point and click. I can explain that to you, but I can't make you understand it.

PoE may be fast but at least we're not running around in huge empty hallways the whole way through the end. It's good that there is competition, although I wouldn't call it that, as there is literally no competition if you want an ARPG you can play longer than a month.

i love last epoch but nope it is not better.
I agree that the animations and actually seeing more is better in Last Epoch.

I disagree with the rest.
Last Epoch has 1% endgame which gets boring real quick.
And then one of the most important things for me:
Builds

Last Epoch builds are not diverce enough. It is to straight forward.
Especially with the unique items. In path of exile youve got so many freaking ways to enable a new style of playing with a gem, unique item and the list goes on.
Most of the uniques are not interesting enough in LE and defenitely not build enabling/enhancing. And with the uniques that do.. it is not special enough imo.

Defence system.
I think the defence system is way to shallow in LE.
They changed it up, which was needed but it is really boring now and nothing like the layers in POE. In POE i feel like i have a choice.

Passives.
If you make a mistake you cant change your ascendancy which is a shame.
You cant take passives of a different class which at the same time has some positives aswell. Because of this builds are less experimental.
The positive side of this is that it makes balancing the trees easier since you balance a class instead of balancing 1 big passive tree which affects all classes at the same time.

Skills.
Not enough skills.

Story.
I like the story and some animations they use in the story of LE but it is way to long. Just like Path of exile.
The story in POE is presented in an old way which i dislike. It is an old game so i understand.

Multiplayer.
No multiplayer yet, which makes the game boring for me. I miss having some interactions and co op it with other friends or people.

Maps
LE HAS THE MOST BORING MAPS EVER. They are not procedurally random.
I feel like i do some maps 1000 times because of this.
The look of the maps are better then in POE. It feels like it has more life. I dont know how to explain it.


Anyways, LE is a promising game in my opinion and iam glad that finally there is a promising one after years in this genre.
Its just not better overall then POE for me. It has better aspects but it misses to much things. It is still in beta btw.
