It really isn't the league. It's the game. It's reward system is out of wack. You can get the stuff you need too easily. There's no carrot on a stick anymore... just a huge salad bar that you can have as much of as you want.

I completely agree that's it's too easy to get exactly what you want, which is why I've had a blast on ssf for the last year instead.

However there isn't much anyone can do about that problem save from removing trade altogether. You cannot have a game that can give you what you want at a reasonable pace, attach trading to it, and then continue at that same pace, there's not a single game that's been able to pull that off. The only thing you can do is dampen trade but that doesn't solve anything.

This is why I'm so against making trading easier with an AH. It's bad enough you can figure out the EXACT gear you want with PoB, and then just trade for that exact gear.

If you're feeling burnt out, it's because you got to 90 on day 2 of a league. Traded for items that while they weren't top tier they're so well rolled and near exactly what you need that now you only look at anything that drops in terms of chaos. You now only look at every activity you can do in poe in terms of chaos per hour. You're very much ruining the entire point of the game for yourself.

Make a private league with some friends, try ssf, or see if you can play trade LIKE ssf. The whole point of these games is to play your character and hope for rare drops. When you can just buy them what do you thinks going to happen to your enjoyment.
It's called Challenge League , with the idea of keeping you occupied with doing them. It works for me just fine.
Nope, I pretty much play the whole 3 months of a league.
5.5 years and counting.
Although I have not started this league yet due to work constraints.
~ I play slowly.

take two leagues off. Come back for the next major atlas update.

A break will help you reset.

Yep, it helps.

Then I come back and start gaming I stumble upon things which made my desire to play fede, and each yime after break I play less and less.

It cannot be avoided.
Its just bad design and balance decisions.

Good points. I'd counter, however, with a small point: if trading is allowed, making it more efficient, time-wise, is a good thing. In my experience, too much time is wasted in non-hack-n-slash activities (overhead). You can spend a lot of game time NOT actually playing the game. A passive (in the background) way of selling items could free up a lot of game time.

I'm simply saying that if trade is a part of the game, it should be a dramatically smaller, more efficient part of the game.

BTW, I'd love to see the stats on the total percentage of characters that are level 90 on day 2. I'd imagine that percentage is quite low, meaning it's not a common problem.

A much more common problem is players struggling in early maps, trying to incrementally improve gear through trading/currency arbitrage, i.e. wasting time not actually playing the game, rather spending time trying to find a sucker...

It does do something. Creating (or intentionally leaving in the game) paint points or friction to trade means less trading. It also means lots of complaints, especially from people who don't spend a lot of time thinking about systems for more than the 5 seconds that it takes for their primate brains to register 'this makes me feel bad, so system bad, so GGG bad'.

It's like the parable of the community plagued by 10,000 crickets, so they pay to import 1,000 birds, but then the birds stay and the town is tired of having birds shitting everywhere. So they pay to import 100 cats. Now they have 100 cats and that's ok, but next year they have 500 cats, and as the cats continue to multiply the townsfolk soon find themselves wishing they had the crickets back because now people are calling for a great cat massacre.

A lot of players think they want their 'dream best perfect trading system', but have not anticipated the consequences.

I was just wondering is it just me or do other people feel this way too?

Of course other people feel like it, it's not like you're a special snowflake for being a bit burnt out. You've been playing PoE, a game in one of the most repetetive genres, for years. Sometimes, there's nothing GGG or PoE can do to hold your interest.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
I took a break for one month before Ritual. Played a lot of games I have on my list that I bought and never played before. The most played one was Assassin's Creed Origins. I never gave it a shot because I thought I'd not like it because it's way of from the AC series I like. But boy what a good game! I should have given it a try earlier.

Now I'm refreshed for PoE for some more time.

So, take a break, accept the game will not change drastically until 2.0, and play if you find fun. If not, there are a lot of games to play, not necessary ARPGs.
