What builds will be going strong?

Hey guys,

I am getting kinda overwhelmed at the moment. I read all the patchnotes and since nothing really got buffed and everything nerfed, I don't know whats viable. I was wondering if the big boys could give me a 1-2-3 list of overall strong builds to start with, maybe with a small explanation.

I know there are 1000+ league starter videos but there are just too many and stuff.

Literally the same as 3.12... They have failed miserably at "shaking the meta". Minions, blade blast, ed contagion, poison etc Ah even aurastackers still the way to go on the endgame

I am definitely not a big boy, but still plenty of viable starters.


Looks like impale has taken a minor hit, so most champion impales cyclones are fine.

Toxic rain / ED / vortex will be fine, but I never liked it as league starter.

Bleed gladiators took only minor hit, still viable starters.

Slams are fine EQ / ice crash warcry builds and only call of steel is down.

Skeleton / zombie still capable of completing endgame but will need gear in red maps.

Archmage BL / arc still fine, but gear needed so not perfect starters.

Cobra lash is more viable, but need 6L plus ok gear to not feel terrible in maps.

Blade vortex assassin (fire or poison) is still viable just weaker than before.

Everything is viable if you can play. Ever watch mathil take any skill to end game?

But yeah ez mode is still gonna be nerco and poison assassin. They were hardly nerfed.

I'm just curious about THE skill at the moment that stands out from the others... like remember winter orb meta.

I played Toxic Rain Trickster in Heist and it was kinda boring.

I played Carrion Golems with Aura Stacking in Flashback without realizing when I picked the build, that it would be so damn good. Was very fun while it lasted.

So i wanted to do that again but its pretty much butchered. Probably still works somehow but it just bums me out when it was going so hardcore and now half the damage is gone.


Anways thanks for the answers! I always try something new till now, so I will give Bladeblast a closer look i guess.

ED Contagion is still THE best league starter.

I just really don't like playing it, so I have another underplayed build in mind for my leaguestarter. xD

Seems like a lot of people will be playing worse versions of last league's builds. But if you want a nudge, lancing steel Champion still looks like it has great DPS.

if you are into minions, skelletons , summon raging spirit and phantasam might be more accasible now that the majority will go away from spectres as they recived a big 30-40% dmg and health nerf. spectres and golems are far from dead tho and will still be excelent game destroyers regardless of nerfs, just weaker compared to previous leagues.

and ofcourse, that goes for almost any build that recived a nerf. up to you if you are willing to play a build that is slightly weaker than in the previous league.

alternativly, enkis arc wich will be pretty strong as i watch him regularly lately and he updated it already with the new changes and its actually pretty good so maybe give that one a shot if you are into archmage builds (not my cup of tea personaly)
