$1,000 Package
" The people who did it can only be happy with their decision and the thought is that they had the money to burn. If you can burn a grand on a game that promises not to help you with the game with that money it's not money you'd ever really miss. IGN Wraeclastt

" Yea, I didn't want to author a new thread when I searched for the answer and saw this one. So, 250+ is the latest reliable number? |

" 254 was the last number I heard, I believe via their twitter, on how many were sold. Chris had also stated in an interview a week ago or so(?) that there had been a couple of $1,000 weapon creation packs that had been sold. |

I thought they were the same thing.
So, some people have paid $1,000 just to have a "Diamond Supporter" .png under their name on the forum (and other reasons, obviously)? Last edited by Causarius#5404 on Feb 26, 2013, 12:37:35 PM

Chris Roberts's "Star Citizen" Kickstarter had a $15,000 funding level.
It sold out. There are people out there with a lot of money who are willing to back these projects HARD so they can stay independent. You also get groups of people who want to contribute and are willing to pool their money together. You also get corporate backers. As part of running my own business I have worked with non-profits on fundraising campaigns. There should always be an insane package offering that makes sense for the campaign effort. For example, if you are looking to raise $3 million there should be a sponsorship package to the tune of $15,000 and a "founder's package" of $100,000+. Even if you don't get anyone buying those packages, they need to be offered. And the rewards better be freaking incredible. Lyraluna -- Ranger

That is pretty awesome. It is great to see people showing the support. It sends a huge message to the bloated gaming companies that I have come to hate so much.
I won't buy EA or Activision games anymore...only bought three Activision games in the past five years (COD, D3), and one EA game(Mirror's Edge) since Madden 07 pissed me off. People have got to pony up the money to support these underdog efforts. I can't really afford anything right now, but I'll be dropping money on this awesome game in the coming months. |
