If GGG would feel anything done by those popular tools is breaching their ToS/EULA, they would step in. They might even comment on these forums or on Reddit. They did neither.

Yes, this is exactly what GGG should do. My concern has been that the tools do breach their ToS (or sometimes do), or that they have changed their methods of enforcement, but they are remaining silent anyway. This is confusing the heck out of a lot of people.

Regardless of what you think of the OP’s (somewhat sarcastic) request, if individuals are getting banned for behavior streamers are engaging in, and which they have been engaging in themselves for months if not years, then there’s something wrong with GGG’s communication. If longtime veteran players (which OP’s friend was, and that fact at least I can credibly vouch for) are getting banned without understanding why, then the ToS are not being properly explained.

There should never be mystery or speculation here; the reasons for bans should be crystal clear so we all know exactly what not to do.

GGG ought to step in and provide information about recent bans and how they relate to popular tools just as you suggest.
We're all in this leaky boat together, people.

Also, the claim that streamers RMT with their followers is really stretching the reality.
...
Taking donations on Twitch can not be considered RMT in relation to Path of Exile. GGG made it clear long time ago they do not want streamers to do hand-out or raffles for items because that could be used to disguise RMT. None of large streamers do any hand-outs or raffles anymore except for mystery boxes that are provided and sanctioned by GGG. Hell, most streamers do not even take hand-outs to make sure they are not accused of anything shady.

Would you care to elaborate for others where is your position coming from?

just from the fact that they take money from other players. but so do guild leaders with point donations from other players.

kind of a grey zone both of it but as soon as there are dollars exchanging pockets it's the way it is.

age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

This thread honestly should have stopped here, we've made zero progress since this perfect encapsulation of everything said since.

Lastly, I find opening post of this thread ridiculous because it calls for punishment of others for a perceived transgression someone else committed and was caught at it. This is false argument and also an asshole move. GGG would not act on such request nor they need such request to take any action because they have their own tools and processes they follow.

Except it isn't that ridiculous as there is a monetary reason GGG would have two sets of rules. Call the title what you want but i simply want there to be one set of rules.

The tools my friend used are all used by streamers. The only one i had questions about was confirmed to have been working with GGG to implement the api calls.
(exilence next)

There was nothing against the TOS. Everything follows the one click per action rule.

The only explanation is there is a false flag set off on GGG end and they are unwilling to do proper reviews of an account.

Nope.. there are more explanations. Your friend is not telling the whole story. You trust your friend too much :)

So... what EXACTLY was the OP's friend banned for using? I'm surprised that it's not mentioned yet. Tell us?

poe trade macro
lurker
exilence next

all three confirmed to be used by streamers.
All three work with GGG to implement the API calls.

Yet GGG remains silent and my friend remains banned. For what reason , no one knows.

GGG remains silent.
GGG remains to not care.

All they give is a scripted response and refuse to look into a false flag.

the issue is between your friend and GGG.

i understand that youre frustrated but this has nothing to do with you.

it's not your problem to bring out your friend's confidential matter here.

so far you have nothing but speculation.

it's not helping anyone at all.

acutally, you could be spreading misinformation.

if you really want to help your friend, you need to calm down and be patient. you can't get emotional. it could take some time so calm down.
