please ban all streamers if you banning players for same thing

It is completely unfair to be banning non-streamers for using helpful macros such as a price checker or poe lurker.

These are used by verified streamers and promoted as safe. If you are banning players because they use this then i say you ban all streamers..Stop the two tiered system!

You can't have it fine for one group and not fine for others.

Friend who had spent over $1000 was banned and GGG is only giving scripted responses. He does not bot, he does not rmt does not use macros which do multiple actions at once.
There is no reason for his account to have been banned after years of dedication and support for the game.

Worst customer support of any online gaming community.
Hire some local people and stop outsourcing support to other countries.

These posts for a friend are always intriguing...

I do not know details behind this case, obviously, but I can say with full confidence that you do not get banned for using popular trading macros, even those doing price checking. Those pesky friends never tell the whole story.

Kind of hard to tell your own story if you are banned ....
i really don't understand the victim blaming mentality here.

The friend did not use anything a streamer hasn't used on multiple occasions.
Making a new account only confuses matters with the limited scripted language support has.

GGG should never ban someone for using tools that are promoted on larger streams without also banning the streamers. Fair is fair. if he is guilty then so are they and should rightfully be banned.

the friend has been playing for years and knew how to farm maps for the best value.

GGG is just a disgraceful company in how they handle automated bans. The ban is unjustified. They should spell out what flags were checked and programs used and allow players to appeal for when their system gets it wrong.

FYI if there is a streamer cheating on stream they get banned, there are a lot of assumptions of what streamers use and very little proof.

But they have even been banned for using chat and having 1234 added to any part of it because that usually indicates an illegal use of a macro.

So less tinfoil, get your "friend" to contact GGG by mail and that's it...no posts, no whining, threats or demands will be answered here especially not to someone that isn't the account holder.

FYI apps for price checking, trading, searching and similar are widely used by streamers on stream every day even on YouTube videos.

b. Modify or adapt (including through third parties and third-party tools) the game client or its data, other than in the normal course of PoE gameplay as permitted in accordance with the Licence.
c. Utilise any automated software or ‘bots’ in relation to your access or use of the Website, Materials or Services.
d. Knowingly perform any actions that may cause the computers used to support the Website, Materials and Services (the “Servers”) to become overloaded or crash.

Now, what OP is talking about is valid. Streamer don't get banned because of use of such apps.
Probably the only one that is doing the legwork is Mathil.

Getting banned for such thing is legitimate if you don't have double standards.

Also this

Grinding Gear Games reserves the right without notice, explanation or liability to:
-restrict or remove your ability to make Posts;
-disallow the posting of any specific Posts;
-edit any specific Posts; and
-completely remove any Posts from the Website or anywhere else related to the Materials and Services (including as part of the PoE gameplay) where they appear or are stored; and

is bull.
Not their fault, it's ours, because we accepted it. Bunch of sheep, me included.

GGG make script for drop more exalted for streamers, so can expect ban for thing ?
Tho there were couple cases where streamer got banned for what he was doing on stream (those removal of shadows for darkness delving or what was it), there are many cases of "false positives" when people get banned and then after a month of bashing to all support channels, they get unbanned after manual review.

There should be definitely a list of tools that GGG approve , even if they should set up some one time review or add some certification layer for use of their APIs, otherwise it is the provider (in this case GGG) if shit gets abused aka no trx limits for poling their APIs etc.

They could just restrict any trade tools if they would want to, they could just set up "officially certified" tool list on forums.

The silence is deafening

Correct. I think players deserve communication and clarification of the game’s rules if we’re going to be spending money. This is very basic.
We're all in this leaky boat together, people.

Price checking, trading and searching is fine though. Non-streamers using that without any problems as well, and I still didn't see a single post of GGG employee about someone getting ban for those tools, but I see the opposite: people who used price check tools got their accounts unlocked after those tools DDoSed servers because of bug.
And if a streamer would use autoclicker or some kind of hack, he will get ban. However, GGG would do that with actual evidence only.
