Anyways this is how they make hard boss fights. Any of these will apply.

- extra small arenas (this really started with Malachai / PoE 2.0)
- a lof of area-denial zones
- bad visual cues of denial zones or skills: like metamorph,sirus, catty
- immunity phases while area-denial zones spam/fill the arena





Small arena.....how about big arena but screenwide AOE (The Admiral)? Or a screen that full of mine (the sister fight)



Someone else mention offscreening, well, a audible clue and then off-screening by the sister, is way worse boss fight than Mastermind


This league boss fighter is next level of bad. It just almost infinite try to counter it. Except infinite add spawn that may potential crash the instance....

The biggest difference with those though is that you can just instakill them with enough dps.

Not that I think the other bosses are that bad either, but those are bad examples. Even a medium budget golemancer can kill all the heist bosses in a few seconds.
Mechanics aside, her voice is incredibly hot ngl.
@OP ignore everyone giving you crap. I'm glad you wrote up detailed feedback related to how the visuals, cues, interactions in this fight are extremely nonintuitive.

As others have said, it's simple once you learn how to do it. But the fact that learning how either requires wiki research or repeated confused failure, as opposed to the game giving clues for the player to figure out, means there's still a big issue with this fight entirely separate from its difficulty.

You know it's funny. I made a really strong champion this league and because of that I've been going back and doing a lot of the content I missed before. This fight was one of them. I was able to beat her but I died a couple times from not really knowing what to do with the graveyards.

All I could think of the whole time was " Oh look, another boss the exact same color as it's insane screen covering effects the same color as the background you are fighting them on! Also teleports around and immediately attacks from offscreen at times as well as getting all of it's life back in between stages!"

It's like every big boss and sub boss in the game is the exact same fight. Probably due to the limitation of AARPGs but for gods sake if you're going to add special mechanics to a boss fight FUCKING EXPLAIN THEM!

They do all this work to make a boss fight and then zero on screen explanations or hints of wtf ur actually supposed to do.

It's kind of sad really.
The beams pointing you in the right direction help. Mostly I find it a good fight now, but I do wonder how newer players feel, yeah.

Still took me forever to figure out that you can walk over the skeletons before they pop up to destroy them. I knew they blew up for substantial damage because they'd killed me before, so to me that was the game teaching me to stay away from them. Nothing said "hey, standing on top of this would be a good idea!"
Lame argument of other boss has no problem which you can phase it or one shot it.

Pretty sure master mind is the same unless you have problem on knowing which crystal / corner you need to go

How can anybody say anything negative about Catarina while Sirus exists just beyond me.
Sirus fight is still worse.
